Leake County Sheriff's Deputy Jimmy Vance

I've been really concerned and saddened lately to read about one of the Leake County's Sheriff's Deputies Jimmy Vance. I just don't have a clue what went wrong with that young man. I heard that Sheriff Greg Waggoner had been having trouble out of him for some time but to keep Mrs. Dot Merchant happy (Vance's mother-in-law and Leake Co. Chancery Clerk) he looked the other way when he normally would've fired someone for that type of behavior. It was told he fired his weapon off at the Edinburg ballgame after he and his wife had a problem there. Sounds like some mental issues going on with that boy and Sheriff Waggoner should have fired him from the start but that's how politics go in Leake County. I'm just waiting to hear the news out of Hinds County on all the theft charges he and his wife are facing. According to The Carthaginian newspaper Jimmy Vance and his wife Sheree' Vance had been buying and selling stolen property like trailers and all terrain vehicles....It's a sad sad day for Leake County Law Enforcement...The people you trust to serve and protect had rather lie, cheat, and steal. Wonder what the next move is going to be...all the citizens are watching and waiting.

Lock em up and throw away the key!

I hate it for the boy and his wife but a thief is a thief and the best place for them both is jail. He should have been fired a long time ago because he wasn't stable enough to hold the job. Maybe a few years in prison will change his demeanor!

Jimmy is a good guy.Everyone has their share of tough times but I have known him for years and I am from Hattiesburg and I can say without a doubt that he didnt do it. Hes not that kinda person.
