SPCA Update on Bonham Cats Case

I adopted 2 mos old female #99
and she is wonderful..my girls really love her.

What in the heck is going on? 210 cats? How many are already adopted? What about the dogs? How could this happen?

Hey all! I adopted #128 (now named Gretel). She's my sweet little baby. I love her to death.

Mara, your kitty is probably my cat's baby (she was nursing some kittens when they were seized in February). She's the tortie in the photos, in the dresser drawer nursing the babies.

The house is an early 20th century Victorian. Sits on the equivalent of 5 oversized lots. They put welded wire fence around to keep out dogs (none of their own.) Many cats had the run of the place. Started with just a few and got out of hand. Like an Amway MLM group. Two liters of 6 takes you to 14. Eight more litters of 6 takes you to 62. Thirty more litters of 6 takes you to 242. At this point we got to respect Bob Barker's advice. The fact that the cats are being adopted out testifies to their health. Unhealthy cats go somewhere else. The reports mentioned the abundance of cat food. Sadly the lack of cleanup. They are no the type that would kill the early litters. Not in a position to have that many cats fixed. In our area, turning them over to the shelter is killing them. I don't expect you to understand, just ask that you judge slowly after considering all the facts.
