Olympian Village

Olympian Village citizens need to open their eyes to what is going on in the city right now. It is a big mess and is just getting worse. The people that are in there now that just took over are putting only their friends in there with them. No one else even has a chance. They say they want things done right but they are not doing them right. How can all of you citizens that live in here just sit back and let these things go on? What are you going to do when the city gets shut down by DNR? What are you going to do when all of your houses gets condemned? They are making rules up as they go. They dont even let people know when a position comes up like the Treasurer they just take it upon themselves to put Mary Yount in there instead of running it in the paper and giving everyone a chance. How are they any better than the last bunch? Wake up before its to late.

here we go again with the wrong information being posted and stirring up trouble because you don`t know your facts, or did someone step on your toes? These new members have dedicated more time and effort to this city trying to keep us from going under than you know. So instead of stirring up trouble, come to the meetings and listen. It`s gonna take all the citizens along with the board to dig us out, but it can be done.

stop whining and come to the meetings. you sound like one of the old board members. before you complain about anything get your facts straight. you dont need to put an ad in the paper for treasurer. take some of your time and offer to help get the city out of the mess it is in instead of being a big baby. you dont have to hold a title to help with this situation. these people are willing to let anyone help out. if a title is important to you then put your name on the ballot.

just vote in Apirl if you want in office go and put you name down soon at the sewer plant if you want the position.everyone has a better chance with the people in office now.get your facts right.

Oh I know my facts! It looks to me that its no different than before. Its not just the alderman and the people thats hired down there going through everything its their wives and husbands and whoever else. How is that right? I see Leady and Larry down there all the time. Who do they think they are? They wasnt voted or hired but I guess that doesnt make any difference to them now does it? And what about Ray Williams and his wife they also have their nose stuck in everything down there. Who do they think they are?

And no I was not voted or hired. Dont need to be. That is a public building and no one needs an invitation or permission to be there or look at anything. Those days are over. If you have a problem with me being there or looking at anything then be a big enough person to come on in and let me know that to my face:) If you were concerned about the city and the situation we are in then you would have your ass down there trying to help also instead of looking for something to complain about:):)

I can use whatever name I want its called freedom of speech remember. Ans you know as well as I do that you guys are not doing anything better than the last. You are putting in whoever you want and making up bogus excuses for the others that try to get a position. How is that right? You are suppose to be different and better then you should give everyone a chance not just your friends. An alderman position says nothing about having convictions against you. After all if it did then how is Cody able to be in office? He has one against him.

Your right it is freedom of speech, but when you want to add my name to something then be a big enough person to say it to me or put your name. And how can it be "you guys"? I did not get voted or hired remember:) When I am at city hall what I am doing there is nobodys buisness. I have also been to all the meetings and have heard no bogus excuses. As a matter of fact there has only been one position up for grabs at a meeting and 2 people inquired about it. One did what was asked and got it:) As far as the Treasurer goes it was an emergency situation and 3 people other than "our friends" as you call it, declined the position. I was also asked to take it and would have if nobody else wanted it. Ray Williams asked about it for Shirley but she hadnt been a resident for one year and that is an elected position. I dont recall anyone else inquiring about it. And the aldermen qualifications would not say anything about the convictions. If you think that is a bogus excuse then call Jeanie at Wes Wagners office and she can enlighten you on that. Why would you have to sign a paper stating that you have never been convicted of a felony if it was bogus? And I do believe Cody's is a misdemeanor not a felony. I know what your talking about because I have read it too. That is also public information. You can look up anybody you want and find out just what kind of person they are or were. There is a meeting on Jan.14. Bring your gripes to the board if you are unsatisfied with the way things are. Or if you think someone has been cheated out of a position. I have yet to hear anyone down there complaing about it. Only you on here:)

Just thought that I would let everyone know that doesnt already that Shirley Williams brother died very unexpectedly last week and now Ray's mom just died last night. This family is having a very rough time right now and they need all the support that they can get.

The catch: you A R E N O T entitled to look at anything that is considered “sensitive”,“private”,“persona l” or containing any information directly related to any employee or citizen of the city, that is a direct violation of the Privacy Act (name, DOB, social, address, account numbers, account balances, etc); with a good legal beagle in today’s society that can be construed as identity theft.

It is also considered L O I T E R I N G when someone has overextended their welcome (in most businesses that is 2 hours, unless otherwise specified by appointment or scheduled meeting overruns). It is also considered L O I T E R I N G if it is after “official business hours”. If a citizen needs a copy of a public city document then the citizen needs to go to city hall and request a copy in writing and allow the city to handle the request in the time allowed.

that is the job of the people “ELECTED” to the elected positions and those “APPOINTED” by those who are “ELECTED” to appointed positions. It is my job (and every other citizen) to be concerned with the business that is being conducted by those filling the positions and to attend meetings when available and to speak to our “ELECTED” membership of O U R R E S P E C T I V E W A R D S via telephone, email, written letters or personal visits about how they are doing and make recommendations or comments on things they feel need to be done, corrected, added, changed, or reviewed. It is the “OFFICIALS” job to take the recommendations and comments of the citizens and either “ACT” on them or “IGNORE” them that is what they were put into the position to do.

if you enjoy using other peoples screen names so frequently, what else have you tried to take without permission? your attempt to steal other peoples online screen names is a good example of your unprofessional behavior! This has nothing to do with freedom of speech.
on a different note.... have you bothered to apply for any of the available positions? Are you waiting for an invite, classified ad posting or someone to directly ask you?

There is a change in leadership in town.... there are several new positions available.... why don’t you hand in your resume and let someone know you have an interest in a specific job?
Better yet, there are a few days left to have your name added to the ballot for alderman and/or mayor.... go sign up or shut up!!
If you don’t periodically check your oil you won’t know its low until the light comes on and then it’s too late!
Everyone else seems to be overlooking the same problems that have always existed.
Why is Cody still in office? it appears he has problems following his own rules!

If you must know there is nothing left at city hall to look at. From what I understand 90% of the paperwork is missing. As far as personal information I have never looked at any citizens or employees information. All you do is sit down there in Alabama and look for something to complain about. You take peoples comments and twist them around without knowing what your talking about. Can you not come up with something to write on your own? From what I understand your just pissed off because you didnt get your way with the police officer you wanted the board to bring back..... Get over it... Take it like a man. Or better yet come back and put your name on the ballot like you suggest other people do. You seem to know so much im sure you could run this city all by yourself.

people do have the right to look at city papers if they are not in personal information. how do you know what anybody is looking at if your not there. how do you know that people dont have a reason for being at city hall. you shouldnt accuse if you didnt see it with your own eyes.

what wrong with Mary Yount for Treasurer, if you came to the meeting you would know the facts what went on before Mary Yount got to be treasurer,not wasting any more time all want to say the people in office is a hell lot better want was in there before.

whats bob and diane have to do with having a special ed treasurer.that city has lots of good people in it but a state take over could really fix it its too small to have a quality goverment so just any un educated - no matter the background person can get in and take control and you wouldnt hire a car mechanic to do heart surgery so people donate their time sometimes that creates more problems than it fixes in fact most people ive met only got into politics because they got screwed with by someone else everyone has agendas
