I remember this very well now.. I grew up on a Ferndale dairy farm. We moved into eureka just before 64.. My grandparents stayed on the farm and rebuilt same as they did after the 1955 flood... I was taken out during 55 in a rowboat.
Sitting here after reading this story I'm thinking that my ENTIRE LIFE as been filled with one US conflict after another all the way to today now.. It's almost too much to bear.
I want to say that us guys knew of your sons and they were hero types to us and to others along the river there... I've met both both..
Very strong feelings go out to the family and I want you to know once again that as I sit here this has helped me put things in order for our country's future.. Thank You.

Welcome home "Brother" from one Vietnam Vet to another. It has been along journey for all concerned. However you are coming home not only to your beloved biological family but to all your (family)brothers and sisters who honorably served their country in a time of great need for this world.

I thank you and both of your families for the greatest sacrafice one can give and that is a LIFE. Also thanks to the Joint Pow/Mia teams who investigate and locate missing and presumed dead Heroes from WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. They have brought home countless numbers of Heroes home to their families.

God Bless you Sgt. Jacobsen, a true "Screaming Eagle" from the 101st Airborne Division. You live on in the hearts of many.

Wow, Thadeus Greenson wrote this article, and it didn't lead to the conclusion that a Humboldt County law enforcement agency was somehow responsible for the helicopter being shot down in the first place!
Good job Thad, you were long overdue for a GOOD story.

Welcome back Sgt. Jacobsen, on behalf of a grateful nation.

Cindy, my heart goes out to you and your family. I can't even begin to imagine the pain you have been through all of these years. Thank you for sharing with us the story of your brother and thank you, Sgt. Jacobsen, for the ultimate prices you paid for serving our country. Welcome home and may your soul finally rest in peace.

I cant even imagine the pain and mental anguish that you went thought! I hope that they pay for all the pain they cause the people that fight for them and there family's! The ones who do the dirty work for them while they sit back and count there cash!!

Sorry Cindy and Jacobsen family members! I am sorry for my outburst at these people who would never understand what Tim stood for and his genuine belief in what he was doing. Those who have never stared death in the eye would never understand Tim's sacrifice and your's as a family. I have felt guilt for many years that I did survive Viet Nam and many fine young men that I served with were less fortunate. Know that Tim's Comanchero Brothers suffer with you and are now happy that he is coming home. Accept my gratitude and best wishes! God Bless you All!

Welcome home tim. I hope the rest of his crew are not far behind. The crash happened right after I left viet nam and I didn't find out till 30 yrs later. I still cried at the loss of several brothers. Humboltdninja, "stupid war?", you just don't get it, do you.

This is truly a blessing!!! Praise the Lord God Almighty!!! There is closure to a long awaited moment...to bring a son, brother, and comrade warrior home. I'm so happy to hear the good news!!! Welcome Home Soldier!!!
Sgt. Jacobsen fought and died for a worthy cause...no greater love does one have for his brother, but to lay down his life for him...
Though he gave his life for another mans country's freedoms...he was called and served.
May God bring many blessings to follow from the footsteps of such a courageous soldier.

You do not know what you are talking about, you must live like a coward that you are. How could you say that to people when you live in another country, I feel sorry for your dog he might want to honor you. You do not even know the family to say such stupid thing's, I wish I would have known Tim better.

I have worn Tim's POW/MIA bracelet for over 35 years. I am not related blood wise and it's a mere coincidence that my maiden name is the same last name as his. When I purchased this all those years ago, I purchased this through the mail and didn't request any specific name. I found his name and some of his family history years ago after the advent of the internet and left my name. I was contacted by several Vietnam soldiers saying thanks for wearing the bracelet so long, but the most profound thing was the email I received from his sister Cindy McWhorter. We have kept in touch off and on since and I feel a kinship to her. We lost touch because I changed jobs and my email address was lost to us both until she took the chance to write to me through an old email account I seldom use a few days ago. Imagine knowing your prayers were finally answered. I will now send my bracelet to Cindy, that that should be also.

If it wasn't for American GIs, HUH would speaking German and goosestepping. The brown boots would have killed your men and abused your women.
Crawl back in your Norwegian drunken stupor, put on some viking horns and let the bull moose have his way with your a$$.

You have no war heroes. Only co-conspirators and murderers.

Get off you knees and have enough guts to demand freedom from your masters.

I was horrified when I read this! Surely, you do not mean what you say. Do you have any idea how many men and women have given THEIR lives so that you can live YOURS???? And this is the thanks they get? Your punishment should be to be sent to live in Iraq, Iran or Afghanistan. You will be aching to be living in the USA once again! You should be ashamed!!!
