I am interested in contacting persons with Petersburg genealogical information about the John Sites family who lived in Petersburg, WV during the 1700 and 1800's. I am also looking for the Sites Cemetery in the Petersburg area.
The Sites Cemetery is near the Spring Run Fish Hatchery. At the Dorcas Grade School (Dorcas, WV), take a left. Follow that road for a couple miles-you will see a paved road that cuts off to the left-proceed up a short way and when the road levels out there is a dirt road on the right that goes across a cattle grate. Follow this back until the road forks, take the right. It will take you right to the Sites Cemetery.
There is a book called "Descendants of George Sites" that you may be able to buy off the internet. He was born in Germany in 1717 and he has a descendant named John. They were all from the Dorcas/Petersburg area. There is a long genealogy list for George on Rootsweb.
