Ex-detectives cleared of perjury charge

These gentleman were the ultimate Law Enforcement Officers in their many,many years on the ISP Department. This now null and void prosecution was a witch hunt from day ONE to benefit the elected official known as the PA. I have known Larry for many years and worked with him on occasion and you couldn't find a more dedicated,personal type person anywhere in Law Enforcement. I'm very happy for him and wish him the best in his continued retirement. This reminds me of the Nifong case to a tee! Maybe the Indiana Bar Association needs to review this case and the turn of events.

innocent people have been executed because of a conviction based upon witheld suspects which had the defense known there were other suspects, the accused may not have been convicted and executed. This has been proven to be true. There must be severe punishment for those witholding information from a defense team or claiming information to be true when it is false or speculative at best. Sadly, some prosecutors and police play a game to win in court, and innocent people pay the price. Why worry? It could be you on trial officers and citizens.

Prrosecution witnesses always lie or slant the truth, it's the nature of the beast. Of course, if a defense witness lies, then they get indicted for perjury. On the other hand, it's extremely rare to see a cop get accused of perjury, so I would agree that this must have been a "witch hunt"

This case was about getting Darrin McDonald elected prosecutor. His boss Boyd Toler was defeated for judge in May 06 Primary and was in abstentia for the rest of the year. McDonald hid behind a grand jury and had them indicted 2 weeks before the November 06 election. It worked he got elected. The locals all wanted to believe former prosecutor Mark Sullivan was a murderer and the ISP covered it up. He sold them a bill of goods and they bought it . The Press Dispatch ace reporter and son of the owner, Andy Heuring is a pal of McDonald's and he leaks information to him. The chief investigator is Bill "Baby" Walker who is a Pike County Sheriff's Deputy and is a convicted criminal. McDonald prosecuted him for destroying evidence in a case concerning Warren Craig, who is the son of a county councilman. He pleaded guilty to a reduced misdemeanor charge. This whole scenario is something from a B grade movie. Someone needs to investigate this mess. Unfortuneately we are stuck with McDonald for 3 years until the next election. And you people in Indy think you have problems. Does the name Mike Nifong mean anything to anyone? The same situation only it was 2 veteran cops and not 3 lacrosse players from Duke. SAD!
