Review: Plain Dame

I was provided with a gift certificate to plain dame in Petersburg some months ago. The atmosphere is ok, but the ladies that run the shop appear to be lesbians as they constantly hang-out and talk negatively about former men in their lives. They hug and get close way too much for me. The massage lady named Val is definitely strange and smelled like pot or some type of drug odor. It was a strong smell. The other european lady was very rude and acts like she is stuck-up as when i asked questions she acted like i was stupid or something. I was to have a facial too and the european lady, i think her name was Helenna, constantly canceled on me and delayed my services. She was dressed up like a teenager and appeared to be pushing 50!!!! It was NOT a good experience and I would not recommend wasting your money in this shop. These ladies are very stuck on themselves and when I inquired about them to other residents, they too felt they were a sham of an outfit with low quality services.....Again...don't waste your money on these people! Many community members say they are two-faced and I believe it from what I experienced in their chairs/beds. Run, don't walk away from them. Plain dame is horrible, it is worth going to Anchorage or Juneau for proper treatment.

I too experienced this same atmosphere at plain Dame, very non-professional and gabby ladies. I would not step foot in that place again. iT WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE for the $ spent...i go to anchorage where there's much better bang for the buck. My friends too....

Well, frankly, I have had good and bad experiences at this salon in Petersburg, but kind of what I expect from a small community with not many resources. We stay in the local harbor nearly every year - summers- with our vessel and I use the local services while my husband fishes. The waxing and hair removal was quite painful and I had to take some pain-reliever to take the edge off. I could not sleep that evening. The euro-gal tells you to relax, but it hurts!!! Her perfume was strong. I too was canceled a few times before I could get them to provide services to me. The large masseuse woman from Russia? was a bit strange and not very talkative or friendly, slightly different for that profession. Your money is better spent in a Seattle salon with professional standards. I'd rate my experience a 4 out of 10.

Welll i think your all full of shit I continuously go to plain dame and they take care of me very well, when i feel down and blue Helena does a wonderful job of making my toes beautiful and giving me more confidence for the rest of the cold wintery year. Val is also one of the best massage therapists I have ever been too in my life, she's honest and forward and she knows how to make a damn good joke, as for you sour pusses go ahead and take your business some where else because that leaves more time open for me to have magnificent service!
