I drove by this accident this morning. I'm glad he's doing ok. I couldn't tell what had happened from driving by. I'm glad it wasn't a bicyclist hit by a car. It's so dangerous out there and it could have been so much worse.

Choice between an obnoxious bicycle rider or a deer? Hmmm, I'll have to think about that one for a while. I'm leaning towards saving the deer.
Glad the m/c rider will be OK, though.

Yeah that's a tough one to decide, but I don't have any Bikers, nor Motorcyclists heads stuffed & mounted on my wall to put My fishing poles on.

It really is dangerous for bicyclists out there. I for one am way too scared to ever head out there (I feel 100x safer on my motorcycle, believe it or not). There are margins/shoulders out by Nicasio Reservoir, but almost none to speak of between Novato and the Cheese Factory on Pt Reyes/Petaluma Road.

They even repaved part of Pt Reyes/Petaluma recently (down the road from Nicasio Reservoir) and did nothing to widen the shoulders. I simply don't get it. Multi-use path, anyone?

I'm sorry to hear about this motorcyclist (that could have been any of us), but glad to hear he's doing OK.

I was going too fast up a hill in Penngrove and ran over a FRIENDS black cat. I got out and saw the poor thing in a half smashed frozen death scream. Scared the hell outta me. I picked it up and threw it over the edge...down the hill. i didn't want my friend to see it. She was a very gentle person. Hateful and ignorant...but gentle. I live with the guilt today. i was speeding...I regret it. I have sped since...but not much. Last YEAR I HIT A DEER ON miracle mile by United Market. I hit it because I could not see it...because I had only one wiper. Again...my bad. I just remembered that. I try not to do wrong...but I do. I have no right to be anything but graceful from now on. I caN JUDGE NO MAN.

THree weeks ago, I hit a dear myself, going 60mph at the San Geranimo golf course. I was in a Mercedes station wagon, which skidded almost out of control on the wet road and smashed the whole quarter panel and broke my headlight. My two hitchhikers were blown away that I controled the car...

I really hope the cyclist heals up quickly and doesn't get too paranoid to ride any more...

Damn stupid dear!

So You admit to exceeding the speed limit, and under wet conditions, then have the gall to complain about the damage to Your beloved Mercedes, and yet boast about Your driving "skills".

You should be damned to an eternity of driving 1970's-era Volvo sedans.

No, try hitch hiking.

They need to thin the herds of deer. How many times
have you seen a dead deer on the shoulder of the freeway? It seems to be an every day occurance here. My wife nailed a deer in almost the same spot a year ago - deployed the airbags and totalled
the Taurus Wagon. It came out of nowhere. Glad the rider is going to be okay. Venison, anyone?

I travel that route alot, from Faifax, to Petaluma, and to Point Reyes, and on the worst road kill day, I've counted 19 dead deer.
That's not including other assorted animals.

People drive WAY to fast in that area.
But the really dangerous time to be on those roads is around 4-5pm, I've had sooo many near head-ons with drunks driving into My lane, and yes, most where (here it comes Jim..) drunk illegals on Their way back to Petaluma.

The tight corners in the area about 4 mile west of Petaluma seems to be most popular for Them to wreck, I should know, I'm a First-responder, and radio most of these in.

Glad the cyclist is going to be ok. Keep in mind folks, deer rutting season is beginning and the deer are out there in numbers--the females running and the males not thinking clearly--having their minds set on one thing and one thing only!

In order to maintain the power structure in the US...citizens must be shown their "limits". So you did it all correctly and now junior is unemployable. And the cops WON"T enforce the law with any regularity..and you can't even drive home safely.
American, you are being taught an economic lesson.
Yo daddy is the war machine.
You tried to shake him and now yo in deep doodoo on ALL fronts.
And the war has just begun in"the graveyard of empires".
You are being disciplined by the arms trade.
Try to stay awake long enough to witness your children being drafted into Afganistan...maybe for years.
And because they will be busy killing to prevent recession getting worse...you will have ever MORE drunk illegals to run you over.
I predict an amnesty. Then we can draft the illegals.
Was that the long term plan?
To allow the normalization of illegal immigration in preparation for amnesty...all in order to create new pool of draftable persons. Seriously. I perdict that soon the military will look like the crowd gathered everyday on Anderson.
So doncha spoil your britches...Uncle Sam has a plan to clear out this situation...resolve it clean..."war communism"...the ecomomic model that saved us in WW2. When you see this Gov. takeover of the economy...it seems weird now, right?
Wait till the casualties start tripling...then it will all seem so logical...war communism.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Cancer

Mercury turning retro is offering you the chance to make sweeping and long-lasting changes to your life, and to clear the ground for some fertile growth in 2010. Lawyers and legal matters, debates, contract negotiations, partnership or other alliances, and joint ventures of any kind need attention. As a Cancerian you don't like endings, but you must now bring an end to any situation or relationship that is holding you back or has passed its sell-by date. Look forward, not back, if you want a glittering future.
