whats wrong with Perris? I just moved here two months ago and I came from Riverside. I do notice lots of tagging around the streets but these are little kids not having anything better to do. But as far as gangs or any crime, Riverside seemed alot worse. Isnt it that every city has a few bad spots but the whole city should not be named a S*** Hole.

You know where you can stuff the race card. The United States is the only nation that is racist for wanting our borders protected.Perris is a perfect example of what the rest of the United States will look like if something is'nt done soon. I can tell by your grammar and choice of words that you're a perfect candidate for employment in Perris... LOL

I agree with Godfrey (6-24-09). Many of us would rather budget and pay higher prices for agricultural items, etc. If Americans were doing the work it would require an increased wage versus what illegals are getting paid. However, we would create more jobs for Americans. Which in turn would stimulate the economy, drop our cost (revenue through taxation support the need for these now)in all sort of government supported programs, healthcare, education could become more effective, etc. etc. Illegals tax our system directly and deplete our country. Outsourcing does take our jobs (do have a problem with this also and think it was a mistake to do this), but at least they stay in their own country. Besides illegals taking the jobs here, I think a big problem is that foreigners think in terms of multi-nationalism. Multi-culturalism is ok, you can have traditions pertaining to the history of your family's culture/origin, but we cannot allow Mulit-Nationalism- we are supposed to be of one Nation! Hence the protest of foreigners with their country of origin's flags, etc. I was not born here either, been a citizen though for over 30 years. Our family waited for 9 years to receive immigration status to come here. In my opinion it's not "above" or "beneith" anybody to do it the right and legal way to come to this country.

Well Hank, rest assured that I am in a position to do something about the plague of illegal immigrants and I do my best on a daily basis to arrest, impound, or deport.

Okay, I am a first generation American. My parents came here legally over 30 years ago. I have lived in California all my life. I have worked in the office of warehouse companies and construction companies. Should I go to Mexico?
I have to tell you, Cecil is correct in saying the people who work in these places may be Hispanic (not necessarily Mexican), but they are also legal, at least for the major companies like WalMart, etc.
Yes, there was a time the big companies did not care. The big companies would hire illegals because they could bully them around and not follow any of the other labor laws either. But times have changed, companies are doing background checks because they have gotten hit in thier wallets for hiring them.
The illegals made enough money in those days that now they opened thier own buisnesses in the Indoor Swapmeet, or they are they doing your lawns, or selling tamales and DVD's in the Walmart parking lot, or working for much smaller warehouses or construction companies.
With the economy the way it is, and how hard it is for illegals to find jobs here now, many will move on.
America is the great melting pot, and while I do not appreciate the people who come here and do not make the efforts to learn our language and culture, I also think it is ignorant to not appreciate the "spice and flavor" added to the pot from south of our current borders.
By the way, my parents are from England, should I start swimming?

Just to be clear. I do NOT support illegal immigrants. My parents came here legally from England. My husband came here legally from Mexico City. We have tried to bring his son legally, but when we failed, we did not hire a coyote to sneak him across.
I also do not think we should give benefits to people here illegally, no welfare, food stamps, healthcare, etc. We just do not have the economy to do so.
What I object to in my previous post is the assumption that because someone is Hispanic and speaks with an accent they are illegal. Illegal immigration is a problem, but we must not villify everyone who is Hispanic. We also should not make illegal immigrants the scapegoat for all our ills. This is racist and an attitude that is just as dangerous to the city of Perris , the state, and the country as the influx of illegals.

Wendy, just a quick observation, the fact that people does not speak the lenguage does not mean that they are illegal. FYI

Alot of those employees can hardly speak any English at all. That whole shopping center is a minature Mexico.American teens can not get summer jobs in the fast food industry anymore, or any other industry in the area, the illegals already took those jobs, too. This is really pathetic.I guess everybody's blind.California has turned into a $hithole!!!Our Mayor should be horsewhipped.

You do not do our jobs better than us....you work for scraps because that's what your used to in your third world country. Now you think it's cute that your destroying our country.I think you better surf the web a little more....America is pissed and posts like yours dont help the illegals.I hope your ass is one of the first to be deported.
Wendy, Its obvious you are not educated since you feel the need to fight over minimum paying jobs. Get an education, a high school diploma will only get you so far, at least I hope you have a high school diplome. Trust me a good education will get you far.

I'm fighting over AMERICAN jobs Einstein - For AMERICAN citizens and LEGAL immigrants. You know the people that follow the rules. It's obvious that you are an illegal or family of. Oh yeah, Genius, I have a DIPLOMA, too. Never heard of a "diplome" though. You must get one of those down in Mexico. I also am the proud owner of a Birth Certificate and matching Social Security Card, but trust me it wont get you far. Just ask some of our recent College Graduates.

Nice to know you can spell. Now if you want to argue about low paying jobs go ahead. All I am saying is if you had a good education you would not need to fight for low paying jobs at Walmart.

I think you're missing the whole point. Those jobs belong to America's under educated and YOUTHS. I am aware of high school students that would love an oppurtunity to earn their own money, not to mention College students trying to make their way through school. Would you also call Electricians, Roofers, Carpenters, and Plumbers "uneducated"? Americans consider those professions to be Skilled Trades. The "get an education so you dont have to compete" thing is'nt panning out. Here in the U.S. citizens and legal immigrants have the right to earn what ever degree of education we see fit for ourselves. By NO means does this require us to allow illegal invaders from a foreign country to take over our job markets or social services. This is not a debate over low paying jobs at Wal-Mart.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Sagittarius

If you have any worries or problems today, a close colleague could have the answers you seek. Work will be satisfying, and anything to do with children should be very rewarding today. There could be friction with a relative, but it's nothing serious and things will sort themselves out in due course. Again, you must pay attention to your health, Saggitarius: skin infections are a strong possibility at the moment.
