Hi everyone. It looks like my husband and I will be moving to Peoria from the west coast in the next few months. We know absolutely nothing about Peoria. Can you please enlighten me as to what to expect? Good areas -vs- bad, things to do, things to avoid, etc? Are you happy there? What about tornados, are they something I should be worried about? Any adivce you have would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you very much for taking the time to respond.

I've got some advice, don't move here. The town is crap and you'll get mugged wherever you go. I've lived here for 31 years and it has only gone downhill. Plus, if you have children and want them to have a decent education, don't send them to Peoria schools. I'm so sorry you have to move here. I've almost got enough money saved to get out! Good luck.....

Oh and btw, the school district is #150 and they have so many corrupt people you won't know what's the truth and what isn't. Again, good luck!

I would probably suggest at least moving to East Peoria or Pekin and hoofing it to work in Peoria. :P
