First of all the primary hydrocarbons off of the florida Panhandle is Natural Gas..very little oil or liquid distillates. Estimates run from 2 trillion cubic feet to an estimated 6 trillion cu.ft. Every 6000 cubic feet represents 1 barrel of oil in extracted energy. That is equivilant to a savings of approx.$70 per barrel of foriegn oil. We are exporting $700 Billion dollars to Opec a year out of our collective pockets as consumers. I once thought that the local economic impact would be tremendous..you know the creation of high paying jobs and high tech training, local businesses reaping increased sales. But as I tried over and over to convince people from this area that the prospect of pollution to the beautifull beaches was almost impossible with the new drilling and production technologies..I found that the almost absent level of common sense and the negitive Biased "good ole boy" leadership that rules northwest Florida would not be conducive to intice investment from energy producers to do business here. The mind-set of the locals non tax employees of northwest Florida here is all we want to do is drink beer and sit on the beach and earn minimum a wage. The Port of Pensacola is an ideal port for the support terminal needed for drilling in the eastern Gulf of Mexico. Drilling IS COMING TO THE OFFSHORE BLOCKS..south of the panhandle..it is inevitable. The mentality and the Biased stupidity of the leaders of this area has passed up an opportunity that will no doubt land in Alabama..probably Theodore from what I am hearing from friends in the marine business. We should be forced to fuel our cars and heat and cool our homes with all of that beautifull sand! HINT*** Natural Gas... is a GAS..NOT A LIQUID STUPID! TYPICAL BRAINWASHED REPUBLICANIZED ROBOTS..who continue to elect the same good ole boy network that continues to keep it's ciizens barefoot with low wages and pregnant with debt and misery.
