I am an adult & I think there needs to be more things for the kids to do in this town.
Other cities & towns have teen centers, skate parks, pools etc.

That movie theatre is horrid & needs to be done away with. Your feet stick to the floor, you can hear the movie next door.
The city needs to stop & think of improvements.

Personally I would wonder what teens are doing out at two in the morning also.

Well i read all the posts and this is the same thing where i live. This is very little to do here. I'm always trying to make things for my friends and my girlfriend to do. There is movie theatre. But like you all said it gets old. Skaing gets old. It seems as if everything is old. I've thrown random ass parties on the weekends everyonce in a while so everyone would have something to do. I would get my friends to play their music there and play cd's and have people dance. I'm turning seventeen in one month and i've seen the kids all around me turn to drinking and smoking pot for entertainment. I wouldn't want my friends doing that so i try m hardest.

All we have is parks so i try to do something with them.

I've thrown a dancing party, a cake party, a small battle of the bands, and i want to throw a halloween party. Kids these days don't have money either. "you want to go to the theatre?"
"Nahhhh im fresh out of cash. ima sit home on myspace"

I hate the internet so much. it's ridiculous. M peers are wasting away on it. I don't mind studing or learning launguages but i know other people m age don't have a reat level of concenration.
It kinda seems like its all going down hill ya know???

To the adults,

kids get tired of movies, skating, teen centers, and most of al the heat.

I noticed alot of parents tell their kids they can't run around in the rain with their friends. That can be fun and should be aloud, just a tip!

listen up! i know all parents say: i was a teenager once too, but not in this time! if we want to hang out let us hang out. u should be able to trust us, thats what teens want most from there parents. sure, alot of strangers are there at nite and stuff but the point of "hanging out" is that u are with ur friends! this is coming form a teenager and u parents are all over protec ted. everyone grows up and when we do are parents shouldn't be there to hold our hands. they should be there to help. so please just LET US GROW UP!

it would be nice if some of the things that are built down around destin, was built around here. miniture golf, skate board park, other then the one on john king. an archade, a young non-alch. club, where they could go dancing. things of that matter. i'm from a big city, and i have to say, crestview isn;t the most exciting place in the world to be. especially for young teens. hanging out at someones house is great. but there is only so much hanging out at one's place a person can do. some of the ideas people have here are great, but some of the them, come on be real. we complain that the kids don't get out, that they are always playing video games, or on the computor, but at the same time we bitch about the trouble our kids are getting in when there is absolutly nothing for them here.

Hi Kayla,

When you are grounded, you are grounded get it? You aren't supposed to have fun.(Sorry I'm a mom) but being bored is something I am good at, you have to find a creative outlet like starting a band if you're a good singer (have one in the garage if your parents will let you), what about doing things after school? My daughter is in choir and is super busy with that plus she is an honors student and it keeps her pretty busy. I was horrible at school but I liked horseback riding, what about an after school job? Starbucks is cool or Borders... Hope this helps

Here in Pensacola they throw festivals and such, but none are really oriented towards the teenage population, so we dont go.
Some of us dont want to go out and sit in our friends basement drinking.
Its not fun.
Its not eventful.
Everything there is to do here for some reason seems to be alcohol oriented, and therefore we cant take part in it.
The other day I was walking around Downtown Pensacola at like 2am with my friends.
We had been throwing the damn football bored out of our skulls in the park there.
And an officer pulls up to us with his lights on and gets out of the car.
He walks up to us and shines his damn flashlight in our face and asks
"What are you doing out here?"
"Throwing a football, now we are going back to the car."
"At 2am? Bullshit. What are you doing out here?"
"Throwing a football. He lives right over there, so we came here to throw the football"
"What are your name? Lemme See your ID"
"What did we do? I dont have my ID its at his house."
"Do we need to call your parents smart ass?"
Basiclly it went on like that until finally he either got bored of it, or just decided he was done. And he said "Dont let me catch you out here like this again."
And drove off.
ITS BULLSHIT.
I shouldnt have to be worried about being profiled and verbally attacked in my own damn town.
Especially just cause I am bloody 19 years old.
I totally agree. Cops in my town are ridiculous about everything. I understand when cops are rude and just plain out assholes when talking to some teens because some of them deserve it. Sometimes cops will just stop by the parking lot of the place I work while we are standing by our cars talking. They harass us even though it is clearly obvious that we just got off of work...i mean come on. chill out

I'm 17 and I live in a VERY small town in northern Tennessee... It's a one road town...that has about 13 gas stations and 3 fast food places... It's a big town but that's the only public places... I don't do drugs or drink.. and neither do my friends... Not all teens are the same.. and not all small towns are the same.. We don't have any get togethers or anything that involves the town getting together.. And like most people say small towns are full of drunks.. well yea they are.. that and much more.. but not everyone does it.. When I do hang out with my friends we usually come up with stuff to do... One of us either has a four wheeler lives on a farm or has a large house. We either get together and watch movies.. play video games.. ride four wheelers.. in the summer we have a dirt track race track... we hang out there or we go down to the lake and blast music... Most of the adults here know that there isn't anything to do so they are more laid back on what we come up with as long as we aren't hurting anyone.. we don't gang up in parking lots and talk.. the police show up and tell us to leave...and the law now is if your under 18 you have to be home by 11.. We don't have any school stuff to do.. nothing at all..I don't know if that helps any but that's as good as I have...
