What a tragedy. That dog looks like a labradoodle to me. I groom sheepdogs and never saw one look like that.

This is such a tradegy. My prayers go out to the family, and I am so sorry for what happened. This type of thing should never happen! It is a shame that these type of things happen to innocent children.

~Sorry for your loss~

Tasteless on the Editors part to show that picture of the dog drenched in the infants blood.

My prayers and heart goes out to the family.

I am very disturbed by the picture the Times News posted. I think that was extremely unappropiate.

my heart goes out to the family, I can't imagine the grief they must feel.

The Erie Times should be ashamed and disgussted with themselves for printing that photo of the dog. Tasteless and appalling.

It is so sad what has happend here. I also think that it is in poor taste that the paper would publish the picture of this animal and the blood of it's victim on it. How horrifying for the family of the victim.

Disgusting picture. I encourage everyone to write to the Erie Times and ask them where is their sense of respect for this little girl and her family? Was it really necessary to print that horrible picture?

Wouldn't it have been better to focus on the loss of a beautiful little girl and her grieving family? My heart and prayer go out to them.

This is such a sad story. I do feel that the picture was very tasteless to have in the newspaper and VERY disrespectful. My heart goes out to this poor family.
I hope that we can all focus on the family at this time and NOT give ANY attention to those who may not be so caring and thoughtful. For these people may feed on the attention.

I am so sorry for the family's loss of this precious little girl. May she be cradled in the Lord's arms and may her family be comforted in knowing she is watching over them from Heaven.

I would also like to express my disgust in the Times News for printing the picture of that dog covered in blood on the front page....as my 10 year son and 7 year old daughter saw it and immediately stated what had happened to that little girl.....that is something that no one on the earth should have had to see, especially the family of that poor little girl or innocent children for that matter. Lets have some taste for pete sake.....why on earth would you even think to print something that horrific....it just made me sick.

As a server of the community, this photo is just another example of the absolutely unacceptable work of photographers of the media. They have every right in the world to be there, no problem. But photos close up of a patient from a car accident, photos of this dog covered in the babies blood is unexcusable and grounds for disciplinary action. Im sure members of the family and community DO NOT wish to see some of this stuff. grow up!

I literally was nauseated to view the front page of the Erie Times News showing that horrendous photo of the dog covered in that baby's blood. When are photographers and news editors going to begin to show compassion for those that are facing a tragedy? That photo was totally unnecessary and only proves to the public that newspapers will print anything to sell a paper without any regard for the families and loved ones of those involved. Hopefully, you won't ever experience what that poor family went through.

Are you serious? We need to ban ALL dogs? This was not a pitbull, a rot, or a "dangerous breed". Please Have respect for this family! This was a mom home with her children and this dog never showed aggretion before. Get real abe! There is many more dangerous things in life that need banned besides a SheepDog!

Are you sure about this? I heard from someone, who I THOUGHT was a reliable source, that this family had purchased a puppy some months ago, and that this dog killed the puppy. And also, this same source had told me this was NOT the first time the dog was aggressive towards the child.

Whole heartedly agree, however, the ETN could care less what people think of them, they're the only major paper in Erie. Don't need good journalist here, just just a bunch of half crap reporters. My relative's home was destoried by fire, the one female reporter kept following and questioning him, we informed her that this was not the time, he needed to be seen by the paramedics, but the second we turned out backs she was right back at it. Would have gladly made a comment if the were more polite. Ask anyone here, you only believe less than half what is printed, the only thing the paper, and the news media for that matter, care about is their bottom line.

Oh I am sure! I don't need to make up stories or get rumors started like some others do. Just keep in mind that this is an innocent child and no parents..THIS family or any other would want to put ther child in harms way! Please show your respect and stop spreading rumors and think about how this family feels! What do you get out of making rumors up or showing no respect?
