"The dead were Jessie Cline, 29, Michelle Sawyer, 29, and William Johnson, 24, all of Hermiston; and Fred Young, Jr., 31, of Boardman. The four were heading home from a church dance in La Grande. Sawyer, who had a 6-year-old daughter, was engaged to Young."

Evidently, Judges 1:19 is correct, the lord is powerless against iron chariots.

60% of traffic fatalities are not alcohol related.

The other 40% of traffic fatalities that are called alcohol related are not necessarily the victims of drunk drivers. In fact, NHTSA defines an "alcohol related traffic fatality" as a pedestian with a .04 BAC who is struck by a completely sober driver in the right of way.

The actual number of guilty "drunk" drivers who kill "inoncent" people maybe as little as 10 to 7% of annual highway deaths all together.

And your analogy of the "drunk driver" always living and the sober "innoncents" always driving doesn't hold water when one looks at the New York City Parkway crash that killed 8, the driver survived:

HAWTHORNE, N.Y.- A minivan driver apparently wasn't feeling well before going the wrong way on a suburban New York City parkway for nearly 2 miles, leading to a fiery wreck that killed eight people, police said Monday.

The crash in Briarcliff Manor claimed driver Diane Schuller, 36, as well as her 2-year-old daughter, Erin, and three young nieces. Three men in the car she hit also died.

The minivan belonged to Schuller's brother, Warren Hance. Schuller apparently told him in a phone call about two hours earlier that she was feeling ill, state police said at a news conference. Hance told her to pull over and said he would go to get her. It's unclear where she was at the time or exactly what occurred after that.

Six people called police to say a driver was going the wrong way.

Besides the Schullers, the crash killed Hance's three daughters: Emma Hance, 9; Alison, 7; and Kate, 5. Schuller's son, Brian, 5, was in stable condition at Westchester Medical Center.

The other victims were headed to a family party: driver Guy Bastardi, 49; his father, Michael Bastardi, 81; and Daniel Longo, 74.

The afternoon crash was the second wrong-way crash on the Taconic State Parkway on Sunday. Police also are investigating how a driver in an earlier accident also ended up on the road going against traffic.

The crashes on the parkway north of New York City happened 20 miles apart.

Daily Horoscope for January 4

Taurus

If your goals are fairly modest in the short term, they are achievable and you're likely to get some praise for achievements along the way. If you aim too high too quickly, others might not take you seriously or think you're being uppity and you could come unstuck. It's all a question of attitude and approach. There are contradictory influences over the next ten days but there could also be good luck coming your way.
