Fortville, is really broken. Until we vote out the three people not caring about the people just them selves they will never never change. The one person who thinks they are the head perosn in the town needs to go big time. This should be a balance and it is not. One bobbles her head and the other two bobble also. The girls in the office gossip about everyone in town. If you don't think they know all and tell all you are mistaken. This is just wrong.

The boss is usually someone who doesn't shine in the lime light. They are often in the back room delegating the happenings of what ever they are controlling. I won't go as far to say Tammy Gilbert is in complete control of our town, but I will certainly point out that employees of our town have no business representing the people's interests when they are also representing their own as employees. To me its a conflict of interest regardless of how one chooses to look at it. Now to your point on second hand bullshit. Who is the known druggie? What first hand knowledge do you have that who ever you are claiming to be a druggie, is in fact a druggie? Were you there doing drugs with them? Did you supply them with the drugs? Because if you have no actual first hand information then you are no better than the people you described in your post. If you have first hand knowledge then you have no credibility either, because you would be admitting to being a druggie or at the least covering for one.

Go to the Missouri Courts site www.courts.mo.gov and type mr. ratliffs name in a search. And for your question about supplying etc., I wouldn't be caught dead in the same room with him let alone supply or do drugs with him. I do not associate myself with drug dealers or users if it is any of your business. I don't need that stuff to be able to function on a day to day basis. No need to respond either. I won't be back.

sorry to live here
Fortville, IN

Fortville has become a place for renters to live. People let their house go back to the banks and slumlord buy them and we get the renter from who knows were. They trash up places and move on. Fortville used to be nice but not anymore. Like Lawrnece now look at that mess. Fortville is just like that. They don't have smart people in office and it shows. People that have invested in their places are so sorry to have to stay now. Yes we have to stay who would buy our places. No one wants to move here just the ones that won't take care of their places. Drive around and their are just a handful of house that you would even care to have and if you go anywhere here people are not even nice. When you see town board member and they won't even smile and wave something is wrong.

I would love to see less renters and more home-owners that take pride in their property. Can't really blame the renters, they like anyone else need a place to live at a price they can afford, and our schools surely make the community an attractive option. The property owners that rent often care very little about anything other than the rent being paid and will only maintain a property enough to collect it. The renters can't be expected to go to great expense on a house they don't own, though certainly many could take better care of where they live. Higher standards, more sidewalks, a better maintained Main Street...I hope we turn the corner someday because I don't see moving as an option for many years.

Your are right you really can't blame renters all the time but they can clean up and take care of other people's property. You can fine landlords that don't keep their property in good repair. McCordsville is passing us up and leaving us in the dust. How great for them. It seems all that Fortville town board do is pull one against the other. We need good people that care what is going on. We need to take a good look at other towns that enforce rules and look so much better that Fortvile does. I see trash in people's yards and liter everwhere. There are laws against this but Fortville doesn't know how to adress these kinds of things. We have become a dumpy town and it is so sad. I don't see being able to move either. I talk to many people in town and it seems there are alot of people that would love to leave but are stuck here because they own houses and can't sell. Who wants to come her and buy? They come look around and go somewhere else. People are not frendly here either. I am not sure why that is. They cannot think they are above others. It is a hard town to live in.
