Well, it's a shame and this happens all the time..
I would like to see Cities to require these Speculators/Developers to also add a Bond that would Provide Funds to manage the property and even Tear it down.. Eg: The Old Burger King In LG.. after a period of Resonable time if it is not sold..

other towns are doing it and seems like a good idea to me.. to reduce these Eye sores in our community

And why not More Tear downs? There are so many Old and Poor looking places in and around LG and other towns that should be encouraged to be Bought up and Torn down and new places built..

There are parts of LG that look pretty sad and Old , while new buildings /homes are being built in new areas..drawing away from the Main City...

It's a Nice luxuray to require Older Homes to be Maintained & kept OLD, but Not All the Homes in this Great town.. there are alot of Small Shacks that should be Torn down and new built on those Nice Lots..

And What is with the way alot of the older Summer/2nd Homes are all packed into the subdivisions? What a Mazed and Mess of 3 Shacks on 1 - 1/4-1/2 acre lot?

And Please, LG City Council?
No more Condo's/Apartments.. Until at least 90% of the one's we have are sold..

We're turining into Condo City ...which does nothing but create eyesores and seasonal people, we need more Yr. Round Residents..if this Community is to Grow and support business as well.

5-6 mos yr is not enough.. this isn't Door county, nor The Hamptons

It looks like Retired T1 Lineman is a fan of
Eminent Domain. Tear down those houses , take them
by force from the less financially fortunate & give it to those "Developers" so that they can
make a BIG BUCK & get more taxes for the community
, right? What really happens is that the less
politically connected get screwed while those who
donate to their local politicians get Rich. The
little gets trampled as does his right to own
property. It's best to let the free market work &
not let the politicaly connected scam the citizens. It sounds like Retired T1 Lineman is a
real estate developer at heart & a Republican too!

Its too bad the Burlington Riverfront project is
stalling. The whole redevelopment project was done
to only benefit the local business groups that have a chokehold on the city council. The whole
downtown is a ghosttown. It looks like the Good old Boys really screwed up Burlington , but they
did make a ton of money for themselves. Perhaps the current Burlington city council should take
over this building & make a go of it. All they need to do is charge the cost to the citizens &
have one of their buddies make a fortune too.

The New Burlington Mayor is going to "REDEVELOP"
Downtown Burlington further. The Last Mayor(Claude) did that too but also padded his pockets
at the expense of local Burlington citizens. Is this current mayor going to end up as a "DEVELOPER" too? The GOOD OLD BOYS are at it again , scamming the Citizens out out of their tax
dollars. Obama's Department of Justice will have
to take a look at these not too clever Good Old Boys & give them time off with good behavior.

WHY NOT GET REAL ESTATE " DEVELOPER CLAUDE LOIS"
TO REDEVELOP THIS PROPERTY? HE IS OF COURSE THE
EX-MAYOR & GOOD OLD BOY EXTRORDINAIRE. MAKE THIS
FAILED PROJECT A "TIF" PROJECT & GIVE IT TO CLAUDE
& HIS PARTNER "KEVIN" & SO THAT THEY CAN MAKE A
KILLING AT THE EXPENSE OF THE CITIZENS. SOUND FAMILIAR?
