Atta girl. Keep that chin up. Polls really don't mean much of anything and history has proved that. Liberals everywhere were outraged at the loss of John FFFFFF Kerry because they claimed the polls painted a much different picture.
I never get polled. Why? Because I don't have a landline in my home. My cell phone is plenty for me as with many Americans, but pollsters don't call cell phones. I also don't pay attention to any polls that have un-proportional demographics. When they poll 7% more Democrats than Republicans, don't even give it consideration.
The only polls I give a second look at are exit polls or likely voter polls. If conducted honestly, they are about the closest thing you will get to the actual results.
Once again, you are wrong.

The only divide in this country when it comes to religion are those who are religious and those who despise religion. That's about it. At least in the US, you never hear about Baptists fighting Catholics or Protestants attacking Judaism. When attacks in religion occur, it's usually the ACLU or some individual protesting a nativity scene in front of city hall. Like that's the biggest problem they have in life.
Wow. Apparently we have eradicated antisemitism in the US.

You also seem to be forgetting about the 2.6 or so million Muslims in this country, eh?

Why do you even care? It's their pursuit of happiness and I sure as hell don't find gay marriage, or abortion or "In God we trust" having the least effect on my drive to work every day or anybody's for that matter. No effect on any part of my life, period. It's why I don't care. Your religious views are just that. Believe what you want but don't believe that forcing your religion on others is somehow the American way. I personally don't think abortion is in any form a solution for birth control but who the hell am I to tell a woman what she can or can't do with the rest of her life, when she is acting within the law? I also don't think abortion is going anywhere, because people would just travel to have it done anyway. Right or wrong, why is that so hard for you to see?
How do you know my stance on abortion? I've never discussed abortion since you joined this forum. But if you must know, I am a pro-choice Republican.

Back in the day, the left began to attack what we considered good. Political correctness began to invade our world. We didn't have Senior Citizens. We had old people. We didn't have Mz. We had Miss and Mrs. We didn't have nutritionally challenged people. We had fat people. We didn't have gay people. We had queers. We didn't have tractor-trailer operators. We had truck drivers.

As time went on and our world changed so much that you could no longer whistle at a nice looking girl on the street, very little was left. One of those things uninfected by the PC police was marriage. And now they are coming after that.

Just because something doesn't directly affect you personally doesn't mean it won't affect you indirectly. We as a society have limits so that we can form an acceptable environment for everybody.

Okay, so two gay guys get legally married. It doesn't affect you or I. Using that argument, two cousins getting married doesn't affect me either. Neither does a father marrying his daughter. If some guy marries his dog, I wouldn't even know about it unless it was somebody I knew.

Going down that road, eventually marriage will be nothing more than a joke. A jerry Springer society. Freaks popping up all over demanding their "rights" as you call them. Do you want a society like that? I don't.

So we as a society have the right to select what kind of environment is acceptable not only for ourselves, but for our children as well. I've never been married my entire life. Any serious relationship I had was living together. When it was over, there were no lawyers. She took what she moved in with and I kept what I had when she moved in. Any joint property that was to be divided was negotiated between us. I didn't miss a thing by not being married, and two people of the same sex are not either.

Nope. Most of those Muslims keep to themselves as do people in other religions. Their fights are usually with the government when it comes to their attire either obtaining a drivers license or working in industries that handle pork products. Maybe a small group may hold a protest about a middle-east country we are involved in.

The major conflict is usually between anti-religious people or organizations against predominately Christian organizations. American Muslims could care less about what the Catholics or Protestants do.

You have it backward. You are right, American Muslims mostly couldn't care less what Christians do. But have you read these blogs? Have you just missed the anti-Islam vitriol? Have you read about protests over Mosques being built? Have you read about Mosques being burned? Were those atheists doing that or was it God Fearing Christians? Talk about living in a bubble.

Most of the actions you mentioned are done out of fear. In a sense I can see why they would be concerned look at Europe and the balkans there is little agreement between the two separate cultures rarely is there a prolonged period of peace ( I am mainly referring to the Balkans). It's just the nature of the beast and eventually it will happen here as well. Take some time and read about the Muslim brother hood and their manifesto. But such as life live and learn well at least for some people.

Yah, how absurd of me to think most rightwing Conservatives are pro-life. Also, it was the GOP that took things like shell shocked and turned it into post traumatic stress disorder. In fact, you guys are masters of bullshit wording, loopholes and stipulations. The fact that you think everyone in America should be white Christians is why I consider your point invalid. The opposite of what this country was founded on. In fact, more like a cult than a religion that makes you a better person. A weird little kookie cult that thinks it's going to take over the country. Good luck on that one. As long as people can still vote, which you guys are fighting tooth and nail to stop poor people from doing, you will always be "left behind".

Excellant reply Rakk. People who participate in such violence and destruction are not acting out on behalf of their religious beliefs or against the religious beliefs of Muslims. Islam has it's faction of violent people and that's what worries some of these communities in New York and Tennessee. They see Mosques as anchors for potential terrorists.

Anyway, let's talk about rational things like talking snakes and water walking Jewish zombies. Next, let's imagine a country where Muslims are wanting to force kids to pray in school. To have the Muslim creation story taught in science class. To cry if Allah isn't mentioned in some political speech. To protest Christian churches being built. Sound familiar? Also, shut your douchebag mouth. Nobody was talking to you.

You have short memory. I stated here that I don't really have a religion. I do believe in God and Jesus, but with the exception of weddings and funerals, I haven't attended a church in decades.

Remember too that there is no clause "Church and State" in the Constitution. That was invented later by activist judges. The founders didn't want a country run by any particular religion such as what goes on in the middle-east. But they didn't want religion excluded from all society either. That's what's in the Constitution.

No, the major conflict is rightwing Christian conservatives trying to force this country into Dominionism. The last time you guys voted with your Bibles with GW, Christianity dropped by 10%. By all means...keep it up. After hearing that very popular friar on television go on about how those children who were molested, were "asking for it", I think you guys need to worry about your own asses and not some secret commie Muslim scheme to take the word "God" off of dirty money. Just a kookie little kiddie groping oil cult for Jesus. A toddler in one hand and a Bible wrapped in an American flag in the other.

We'll let the elections decide what Americans want or don't want. Nobody gives a rat's ass about what your little book told you. Good thing your parents didn't spoon feed you the Wizard of Oz when you were little, like they did the Bible, or you'd be preaching to us all about the evils of flying monkeys and trying to change our laws to fit your yellow brick road visions.

Uhhh, hey smart boy. Believeing in Jesus is called religion. You are right that it's sickening to see people trying to control a government through one religion. You know, like what the Tea Party is trying to do. Don't worry. REAL Americans see right through that garbage, no matter how much money the Koch brothers throw at it. This will become clear to you when we elect Obama again.

And what are you going to say when Romney is elected? Surrender?

There is no religion called Jesus. There are various groups of religions that follow his teachings, but Jesus himself is not a religion. A religion is an organization that has a set of beliefs, rules, regulations and rituals.

The TP nor anybody for that matter is trying to orchestrate a religion run government. Believe it or not, we had much more religion involved in government 50 years ago than we could ever have in the future. Years ago, most stores were closed on Sunday. Nobody sold alcohol either. It was against the law in most places. When somebody testified in court, they used to have to hold their hand on the Holy Bible and swear to God they were going to tell the truth. Congress started each session with prayer. To be honest, I think they still do. I remember as a child the Cleveland police shutting down a main street so the church could perform Stations of the Cross in the middle of the street.

Funny thing back then is that there were few worries about murder, rape or drug addicts. Nobody feared dropping their kids off at school or having them go through a metal detector as they entered.

I know you have this hangup about religion, but there was a lot of positives in a religious society that was lost as liberals stripped it away. It's a shame you're too young to remember such a time or you might not be so paranoid of religion today.

Believing in Jesus is not a religion. Religion is a man-made concept. Christ was God in human form to save sorry asses like yourself from burning for eternity in hell!

Sorry, but you have the Tea Party wrong. The Tea Party wants a fiscally responsible government that follows the Constitution. I find it hard to believe that we have Americans that are against that!

If Obama gets another term, you can kiss this country good bye!
By the time he finishes his first term, he will have added 6 trillion to our debt. Another term and you can tack on at least another 6 trillion. This alone will destroy us, never mind all the other insane policies. If you can't understand this, you are stupid and an abject fool. It is obvious you don't understand this...

Mitt Romney’s Fully Documented Liberal Left-Wing Social and Fiscal Record

• Unilaterally, illegally & unconstitutionally instituted same-sex “marriage” falsely claiming the “court ordered him to.”

• Signed the forerunner to Obamacare (Romneycare) into law which includes $50 tax-subsidized elective surgical abortions including late-term abortions into law (3 years AFTER his fake “pro-life conversion.”)

• Boosted funding for homosexual “education” starting in kindergarten.

• Opposes a ban on homosexual scoutmasters.

• Promised the homosexual Republican “Log Cabin Republicans” he wouldn’t oppose “gay marriage” in return for their endorsement.

• Instituted a quasi-socialist healthcare plan endorsed by Hillary Clinton, Teddy Kennedy and Planned Parenthood that destroyed the Massachusetts’ economy.

• Forced Catholic Charities, the nation’s #1 adoption and foster care service to place children with same sex couples even though he was under no legal obligation to do so as even former Governor Michael Dukakis has acknowledged.

• Increased taxes and fees by close to a billion dollars which destroyed the Massachusetts’ economy and opposed the Bush Tax Cuts.

• Voted # 8 RINO by Human Events.

• Passed over Republican lawyers for three quarters of the 36 judicial vacancies he faced and nominated 2 open homosexuals.

• Criticized Joint Chief’s of Staff, Peter Pace for saying that homosexual acts were “immoral.”

• Supports passage at the state level of the Employment Non-Discrimination Act which would force churches and other religious organizations to hire homosexuals and transvestites or face criminal fines and prosecution.

• Romney supported McCain-Feingold “campaign finance reform”, McCain-Kennedy “comprehensive immigration reform”(i.e. amnesty), and parts of the McCain-Lieberman “carbon cap and trade” bill and opposed the Bush Tax Cuts.

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Aries

Keep a firm grip on your money today to avoid anyone else getting their mitts on it. If you're out in public you should keep your wallet or bag clamped to your side, just in case it goes walkabout. You should also make sure you check any bills and invoices that you're given, in case they contain a mistake. It's a day when errors and deceptions are highly likely.
