The Missouri Public Service Commissioners are not elected by the people, but are appointed by the Governor. Their interest lie with the utility companies and not with the people. That is why the county, at the present, has the authority to oversee zoning to keep HEAVY INDUSTRIAL plants for being built in neighbors. That authority has always been with the county and should stay with the county.
This proposed law cannot be made retroactive. There are State and Federal laws that prohibit this path. |
