Nanuet Mall's future in limbo

“I don't know what they could do with this mall”

January is typically a slow month for retailers, so it wasn't surprising to see few shoppers stirring inside the Nanuet Mall on a recent balmy afternoon. via The Patent Trader

i think the people in nanuet should get over the nanuet mall. simon owned the bergen mall in, paramus and let it go go down for years.its simons fault not palisades malls fault nanuet mall llost out. macys in nanuet is a old dumpy store they never modernized it. palisades macys has much better selection even though filenes was better. this is not a bloomingdales area especially now the way the economy is. they are way too expensive. palisades should have looked better but,has everything you need one stop shopping. all malls have their share of problems.get with the times nanuet it will be ahwile before anything comes about at nanuet mall.

Sources tell us a Jewish community has filed paperwork to Clarkstown? Will it be a huge Jewish Civic Center?

The Nanuet Mall would do well as a cluster of specialty shops, like going to Arthur Avenue or it would do well as office suites. How about an indoor sports complex?

Has demolition begun on the Nanuet Mall? I haven't been there since moving away in 2003 but I recall back then it having a low occupancy

The Nanuet Mall was state of the art- back in the
70s and 80s. I think the mall jumped the shark
when Federated closed the A&S division and merged
it into Macy's. The fact that Palisades Center
came along is really incidental, not causitive.
