don't have a lot of money these days, and I agree, I get sick of going and just looking at the same old stuff, most of it is junk and the rest is priced way to high. But also the biggest crowds come from the 1 dollar crowd, and who wants to tour Mountain Lake, that boat sailed, its a little to late they should have banked on that right after the Movie came out, now its too late, But if they would have Dirty Dancing Street dances with the music and people who can do the dances, and teach where everyone is involved, it would be nice. Now its just money money money, and who has enough to go its all the over paided people, who don't know what it is like to worry about where your next meal is going to come from, they are the ones that plan and price it to where very few people go.

Oh, and I forgot, they are the only ones who are allowed to have fun, sitting on your A$$ all week wears them out, and they need a break. lol Let the ones who can't afford these little dances, eat cake. LOL

They charged too much. Pearisburg/Giles Co is a poor place. They set this up for the more well to do and then they didn't come out. Lesson learned. $10 for me is a lot of money, too much to blow on walking down a street and watch a 25 year old movie on a big screen outside.

I went up there with my family. We wanted to watch my friend sing in the talent show. I didn't know there was a fee to get in and neither did my friend. It would have coast us $50. We stood outside the fence and listened to her sing then we left. I might have paid $5, but no more than that. And there was not very many people there. The talent show was good though what we saw of it.

So you collect a Public Assistance check and purchase alcoholic beverages with it? What in the hell is wrong with this picture? Why should we pay for you to sit on your ass, and buy your beverages so you can get drunk?*SMMFH*

Does a street rod club out of WV still run the car show? I entered a car once, and by the time all the club members got a trophy (including 2 that showed up an hour AFTER deadline for entry) there were none left for anybody else..I still go but leave my classic in the garage and keep my 15 bucks.

Leave it to the outsiders, or as I call them, the "Settlers of 2005," who move in here from other places, and think they can turn Giles County into another Catskills. If you recall the county bicentennial in 2006, a vast majority of the people on the planning committee weren't even natives of Giles County! What's up with that? And now, they want to bring high culture to the county? Give me a break! "Dirty Dancing" was filmed in 1986. That was over 25 years ago. Quit trying to ride on the coattails of an old movie that nobody watches anymore. Let's move on!

I agree with most of what you said.Too many well-off outsiders. They don't realize how poor most of us natives are.The ones that have money go to the beach!
But,folks do watch "Dirty Dancing",it's a classic.

I believe the Bicentenial commitee had openings that no locals came to show an interest in. These "outsiders" appreciate how special Giles could be...if only it weren't full of lazy meth-heads.

Happily, the atmosphere starts to lighten today, leading to a much more comfortable time. You'll also find it easy to get on well with other people, which will come as a big relief. You may even be able to make amends for what happened yesterday and reach some sort of agreement at long last. If you're going to a social event you'll have a really good time.
