You are on a vendetta Mr. Johnson. You didn't get your way in a committee meeting and now you are playing it out in the media for the attention you didn't get from the board. All the students you are talking about have reached the legal age of consent. there are cops in the school. They know who the drug and problem people are. You have no issue. Your conduct is insulting to the CDC board and staff and the public. You need to resign, since you do not have the temperament to be a community leader -- who collects facts and works with others, and makes reasoned decisions.

Again, are you saying that teachers, subs, field trip chaperones don't need background checks then, since they are working with the very same students you believe don't need the adults around them to be checked? Because that is exactly what you are saying.
Additionally, subs & chaperones will have far less contact with students than an adult student in a classroom with them every single day. It seems like you might have a legitimate issue with Larry. But you have not made any legitimate point about the lack of need for background checks, other than the fact that the students are perfectly safe with adults who have not had them done. There is no "clean" adult who would care if a background check is done, and for many of these adults, the government is paying for them to attend these day programs so why would they expect yet more of an exception to what the rest of us are subjected to? |

Mr. Barone seem to be too immature to be teaching anyone. Also, Mr. Barone's passion about this is an inept way of protecting something - his job. Based on his behavior, I tend to believe that enrollment is low and he is trying to protect his job. To do so, he will allow anyone in there with our school children. Grow up!
I think the Board should ASK for his resignation and get someone who puts the kids first! |

Johnson should go - he's been there since March - can someone explain to him that students do not have to go to the cdc to get drugs - they only have to walk up to pleasent street.
Also - I say if people want to get an education let them. Why try to make it harder for someone to reabilitate themselves. Our town is full of stupid now. The last adult to get caught selling to students was an employee wasn't it? Maybe Johnson should talk to police or look at what the h is going on - child abuse and drugs - that's a great cause anytime - the trick is Johnson you got to match it all up - It doesn't make jack sense to look at cdc and want to implement something that you have no proof or history on - drug dealers sleep all day Johnson - thier up all night dealing drugs. seriously why? You will not be a hero getting people to pay an extra 35 bucks they can not afford? Then what happens is the tax payer will have to pay the 35 bucks because there will be a tax fund program to cover background checks for those wanting an education. You gotta think Johnson,. Put your guns back in the holster there Johnson - leave Barone alone and stop trying to his job. If you wanted his job - you should have asked for it - or run for it - CDC doesn't need to be one more place where we have to spend extra money to the Sherrif's office or UCS in order to reabilitate ones self or try to get rid of stupid in our town. Go watch over the moose on Main Street - that'll give you something to do. |

First of all - my daughter tried to enroll at CDC. No one returned her calls - no one returned mine. Lets start there - the person who is supose to return the calls for the adult person needs to go or given a helper. When we went there 3 times - we were turned away by a lady and told that this guy was the only one we could talk to cabbout the Adult classes. After 6 months - not kidding - The guy we have been searching for finially meets with us to only tell us to take computer classes? WTF
My daughter ended up not going there. SUPRISE! So times that by maybe even 12 student every 6 months.Enroll down - of course - when the employees do not answer repeated phone messages and emails and then tells people to stay at home? What Barone needs to do is get a handle on his employees. If he can not then he should step down. If you have one guy not answering 12 people what else are the employees doing to help CDC grow - NOTHING - Mr Johnson - you are on the wrong track to tring to increase enrollment - I could come and work for you for about 6 months and I bet $10,000 I would have at least 20 new students in there for you. Just stop it with the back ground bull - seriously - look at the staff and do phone sales to see what responses you get. Get rid of the guy who handles the adult education and hire me part time - I have a full time job now as a manager - so I could come in 5pm - 9pm W-F and Saturdays I work all day contacting and meeting people - because - people who want to continue thier education often work Mon - Fri and too busy to come in so I would meet with them Saturdays. I would be in contact with Welfare - Unemployment Offices - the homeless shelters. I would go to Applegate/Willowbrook/Beach Court door to door. I would contact BROC who has a new program to help adults get employement. You gotta reach out there -and you gotta answer the calls. |

You are a manager??? Wow. I forsee another bennington business going under. Unless of course you are managing "Morons Are Us". How about getting some people at the CDC who can pay for themselves instead of all the freeloaders who have been freeloaders all their lives and will do nothing with any education they may recieve there. |
||||
I'm sure you were also given the hours when that one person would be available. problems do come up, and the Adult Ed job consists of more then standing by the phone. You write a good rant, and there may be some truth in it, still, there is something about your claims that do not ring true. |

Larry keep up the good work!

Larry Johnson is on a personal mission for publicity. His actions are not backed by any history that has taken place at the CDC what so ever. There are police and employees in the schools that keep them safe. CDC is about education, not what someone may or may have not done as a teenager. Larry Johnson should resign his post immediately. He has done nothing besides shift the focus from important educational matters to BS he has made up. Way to waste everyones time and efforts Larry, you should be ashamed of your actions.

Sounds like Mr. Barone has copied a few pages from Harvey Yorke's playbook. Well at least he reads the paper. Board members just need to be sure the tape recorder is going when he "resigns."

Outsider....You really should not talk about things you know nothing about! You could not possibly be more wrong. |
||||
What good work? The role model students in the CDC are the adult students. Larry wants them finger printed and invaded because they are older the 18. No other reason. |
||||

I think that if you are going to do background checks on the adults that attend the CDC, then you should also do them on the kids... Just because they are 16, 17, 18 years old doesn't mean they aren't criminals too.
