Yes, he should be granted bail. At the very least, he should be placed on house arrest He was convicted on 2 separate pieces of evidence that have been proven invalid. One of which the government knew was invalid before trial, but still allowed the prosecution to use. Something which is done much more often that people realize. If he's not granted bail, the Commonwealth will stall the case as long as they can, keeping him locked up. That's their standard operating procedure.

I'll never forget that long, cold November in 1972.
Of course, no matter how this eventually turns out there's no "winners" in this case; which I can remember well. Paulie C is long buried. One can only imaging the agony his family had to go through back then and endure since. If Eddie didn't do the actual kidnapping and killing; what a price he has paid for being stupid enough to go along with picking up a satchel with the ransom money for a measly $500 supposedly for a "drug dealer" who Lykus supposedly never met before. Of course was hardly chump change back then - a sh*tload of money in those days. Hell, I bought my used first car five years after that incident occurred - for less than a grand. But to accept the $500 bucks to go out in the woods and pick up a bag? He's hardly entirely innocent in this matter. I mean, come on - what was he thinking - picking up the ransom money for $500 - from someone he claimed he did not even know pervious to that? I mean does anyone here believe he went out there to pick it up the loot totally in the dark? And that he hadn’t heard that Paulie was missing? It was all over the papers. And let's not forget the.38-caliber Colt pistol, which just happened to the same exact caliber used to kill Paulie Cavalieri, was found inside Lykus's apartment, as well as a staple used on a ransom note matched the make and model of a stapler found in his apartment. The thing that always bothered me the most was; while the case may have seemed weak to some people at the time - for what possible reason or motive would Lykus's OWN defense lawyer at the time (based on a conversation he said that he'd had with Eddy) tell FBI agents exactly where some of the ransom money could be found? It just doesn't add up, folks. |

I was 7 at the time and I believe that this guy Lykus looks older but similar to one of the guys that chased me down and hit me with bags of ice as I was returning from the Lil Peach store in downtown North Attleboro, MA. It was a quiet weekend and I was walking alone in the sleepy small town when some leather jacket wearing hoodlums chased me into the little ally between the buildings near the old gas company office on North Washington St near Mason Avenue. i ran to get away from them but I did not realize that the ally was blocked by a fence. The ally was only a couple of feet and so the fence was a sturdy chain link type that was also only a few feet wide. How horrified I was. It could have been me who was kidnapped and murdered that quiet day in North Attleboro. i watched those guys go to the door across the street that led to the old apartments that were over the old Schofield Hardware Store. I never saw them again. But when I saw Ed Lykus online recently I saw those eyes and he looks just like the one who pursued me with the ice bags and beat me to tears in that ally then left me. Granted he looks older but the eyes look the same. Also My grandmother used to talk about a Bobo Cavaleiri being involved. So where is Bobo Cavaleiri and what about him and his possible involvement in the crime. Last I heard he was in MCI Walpole (Cedar Junction) State Prison on unrelated charges. There were also rumors that Patsy Cavaleiri the familys patriarch had mob ties. Is this true? Is that family mob connected or were they? Hmmmm. And was little Paul Cavaleri killed by the Police Chiefs son? Also why has the fact that a the Police Chief(also a Lykus) shot himself after his wife turned up dead. Hmmmm North Attleboro has a very interesting history that is being surpressed and hidden from the world. Perhaps because it is a dark history. The story must be told.

you people are all tabloid readers learn ya facts...theres so many stories and rumors but until you part of the family you'll never know...North Attleboro is a grimey freakin area...the Cavalieris or whomever they are have always had a beef with my family since before i was born, its one side versus the other...pretty sad i cant pass through the area without being afraid ill get pulled over because of my last name...get a clue. facts are facts, even when they are withheld i guess right? awful long time to sit in prison and never meet your nieces because of so called "hard evidence" ..give me a break and the fact my grandfathers burial sight was vandalized several times was nothing too right? Not to mention the harassment my family has gone through because of this...sickens me i was born into such a hatred..
Oh and to the dude Oliver, its in the eyes? give me a break..were you gazing into them? did you get beat up on a daily basis? it couldve been anybody, dont try and stir something else up, be a cheerleader for someone else's team guy. And one more thing the police chiefs wife is still alive..get your facts right. |

Eddie, Was a man that we thought we all knew as a friend, come to find out he had a double life, Paul Cavlierie is the only one that we should think about, after all he to thought Eddie was a good family friend, that was over 30 years ago that it happened, and we all will never forget that very sad day they found Paul. All for money, hard to understand even today. My God have mercy on his sole.
