I just cant believe that they get to walk away with this "pittly" little fine!! My god , what were the lawyers and judge thinking?!! People go to jail for tax evasion , but then get off for a terrible crime like this? I guess money does talk huh? I hope Ct. appeals this sentence and a Civil suit follows to wipe the lowlifes out!!

That is so wrong on so many levels here.

It just goes to show, race ain't a big factor here, It's wealth and money. You can be rich white guy and get away with murder while a poor white guy spends his life in prison. Same thing with minorities, A rich minority can get away with murder while a poor minority spends his life in prison.

It just goes to show that money can buy off anyone or anybody.

Although I believe that a huge amount of community service is in order, forget the prison time, let them keep working to pay the civil penalties that they have coming to them. I hope the Wines hit them right in their pocketbooks. As if MONEY WAS NO OBJECT.

has nothing to do with liberals holding office - it has to do with corruption and who they knew and paid off.

The death of Carlee Wines is a tragic event. It is every parent's nightmare to get the call when you child tells you he was involved in a vehicular fatality. However the reason we love this country is that we are all entitled to legal representation. Every parent would seek advice as to what to do when confronted with these events.
oh, another idiot from long island! you're wrong on everything you wrote, except for legal representation. are you saying the parents got legal advice before they started their coverup? you're just another n y schmuck!

I'm surprised I don't see posts from either High School Parent or Shoreliner railing against these parents or their kids. What a shock....
You noticed that too:) The only hate "some" criminals.

Fist things first, it was NOT a State of CT court that heard these charges, but a NYS court.
That is EXACTLY the problem! The crime occurred in CT, but CT authorities did not prosecute the obstruction of CT justice. They should rightly have been prosecuted by BOTH states. These parents used this cross-jurisdictional issue to their own advantage and got away with it.
