Mr Newman will always live for ever in all his movies.He was a big part in my life and many others.He is truely among the top 20 true stars of hollywood.Thank you Mr Newman and Mrs. Woodward for being such great roll models.

IF EVER I SHALL LEAVE YOU

If ever I shall leave you it wouldn't be in spring.
For the sweet smell of the flowers makes my heart
Begin to sing.
If ever I shall leave you in winter it couldn't be.
For you would need, my warmth, in winter as the snow
Falls on the tree.
So, I guess it be in summer,
But, summer I can't see.
For the warm, hot breeze of summer.
Brings out the love in me.
It would have to be in Fall.
As the leaves fall off the tree.
But, somehow I can't leave at all.
For (our) love will always be.

Newman's characterization of Bridgeport during the 1970s was Right On. It was not only depressing but a very dangerous place back then as well. He took a lot of local heat for saying that-But t needed to be said at the time.
