Razz I dont usually agree with you but this time you are right.Social Security was set up in the beginning for a supplemental retirement income. Business practices have changed since it was set up People may work for a company 30 years or more and the company either goes broke or sells out and they may loose their retirement or companies like Emron gyp them out of it I am 52 and I look for the ss system to be flat broke time I reach the age to draw from it The money in the ss system has been diverted too so many different things it aint funny. If we done these things in a privayt business or a publically held company they would have had us under the jail for missapproation of funds or embezzlment I have made steps personally for my retirement that dont include ss I advise others my age or younger to do so also or at least consult a finincial planner SHOVELHEAD GCB SC

You're 52, I'm only 38! It's a good thing I am contributing to the 401k at work! I'm quite certain that SS will either be totally bankrupt, or severly cut by the time I reach 67.(My full SS retirement age). I just don't see me working at the GC McDonalds at 67 yrs old or older asking... "You want fries with that?" While sucking my dentures back into my mouth...

I am in the same boat as you I cant draw full benefits untill i am 67 either the cut off date was sept of 56 From reading all of your posts on various subjects you seem to be wise beyond your age I would have never guessed you were only 38. Sadly I think SS will be broke when I am 67 much less when you are 67. SHOVELHEAD GCB SC
