When was the last time you heard about Harley bikers spinning tires and burnouts on the Boulevard. NEVER! We do them in burnout pits at SBB or HB Spokes! The criminal element that follows BBW rears it's ugly head once again! Hope the cops kicked his @#$!

We have all forgotten what Memorial Day stands for and what it should mean. A lot of us have Fathers and Grandfathers who have served in the military or gave their lives for their country.
These Law Officers take an oath to serve and protect and they do their job to the best of their ability. They put their lives on the line everyday they go out the door of their home. Both bike festivals leave a lot to be desired, but our "family" beach should not have to be subjected to lewd behavior and be shown disrespect and have to look at naked bottoms and trash thrown on our streets.

I was under the impression that the NAACP was to continue their economic boycott of South Carolina due to the Confederate Flag issue. Judging by the numbers attending ABBW, that "boycott" isn't doing very well! This is certainly a shame... I wish the ABBW tourists would stay at home in observance of their civil rights and in honor of the NAACP boycott. Officers, please be careful. I know too well... after 23 years of police work... that officers have fewer rights and face greater degrees of discrimination than any other group in our society. Good luck!

I noticed the article was very vague in the description of the "Biker". We have no knowledge if it was a Harley rider or an "other" rider. Although we all know the time of year this is. I see that even the Sun News is subject to the ugliness of being "PC"... Lets not offend the NAACP or anyone else by reporting the whole story. Way to go MB Sun News!!!

This is not a Black or White Issue. He was starting improperly that is against the law. Any person who thinks this a Black and White issue needs some help. Hell the Officers could have been black for all we know. I Love both weeks. We make more money in May Than March Feb and Jan all put together. We should be glad that everybody is here. Anybody that does not like it go somewhere else for these two weeks. The rest of the 50 weeks are great .

Only the beginning of another year of " thugfest " ! It may not be this year buts its just a matter of time when this event makes national news with some kind of violent eruption and riot. But as long as they bring money to spend Myrtle Beach will welcome them. Its a shame that families and even some golfer groups now avoid this area during most of May.

I was down for Harley week and I thought the police did a great job. They were every where and they did not appear to be bias on who they wrote tickets to. they even pulled cars over. i felt the safest i had ever felt at this rally because of the police. i think the difference between rally's is the age, not the race. The younger age people own nothing, therefore they have no respect for others. the older aged bikers (both Black and White) own their house, have careers and have respect for other people and their belonings.

Stop making it a black and white issue. If 200K white kids aged 18-25 came to Myrtle Beach on sport bikes, it would be a disaster also. Both bike weeks are disruptive to everyday life for us locals, but they come with the territory.
Just drive safe, be a good steward and representative of our community, and set aside the hate. Anonymous message boards like this where 80% of the remarks are bigoted are part of what is keeping the racial divide so big these days.
Show people respect and let law enforcement handle anything that gets out of line. They did it en masse during Harley Week and they will do it this week.
One day I hope you all will ignore the incessant race carding by the NAACP, Jackson and Sharpton, and just learn to live in a culture of mutual respect. If someone doesn't give you respect, just move along.

LET'S MAKE IT NATIONAL NEWS!!!!!!!!

It is time we Take Back Our Town. We need to stop being such wimps and being intimidated by the thuggery of the NAACP.

I challenge all to TAKE PICTURES AND VIDEO of the atrocities this weekend. We can collaborate and get this documentation to our political representatives and to the national media. Pictures don't lie.

It is not about race, it is about respect.

The NAACP carries about as much clout as Switzerland. The thing they hate the most is being ignored, yet people insist on giving them the spotlight. There were many hundreds of arrests and tickets given out during Harley Week. There will be many hundreds of each this week. If one group slips up and causes a city wide commotion, then there will be a clamp down. Until then, what good does giving those NAACP idiots ammo serve? You'll make headlines alright... for living in a backwards town and not learning a THING from our nation's history.

Amen to that! I think it's a disgrace that we have to be subjected to this disgusting behaviour in the first place, but especially during a holiday weekend when we should be honoring those who served our country!

Couldn't have said it better myself - it's NOT a RACE thing, it's a RESPECT thing. Unfortunately, most of those attending this so called "bike fest" have no respect for themselves or anyone else. They feel that the whole world owes them. I've lived here in MB for 16 years and usually leave town this weekend just to get away from the idiocy and that in itself is a d--- shame that locals have to do that. If you don't want to be treated differently then don't act so stupid and ignorant!

If the NAACP is actually going to seek justice during black biker week, they will cause severe overcrowding at JRL. In the past the bikers have always just been considered incapable of understanding or exhibiting acceptable social behavior. To consider the bikers to be competent of performing in a sensable way, would put half of them in jail.

Imagine cops pulling a man from his bike instead of asking politely that he get off.
Myrtle Beach is probably looking at a suit for police brutality.
It won't be considered that they probably saved the riders life, or that of someone else. MBPD does a great job, considering all they are called on to do.

Okay let me get this straight. A biker tried to run over not one but two police officers and yet he has not been charged? What's the problem? Maybe it's a black biker and the town of Myrtle Beach is scared that the NAACP is watching...? Well we still have to abide by our laws no matter what the hell color the biker is..Throw 'em in jail!!!

All I can say is I'm glad Gen Y and younger gen X'ers are largely giving minorities a chance to prove they are good citizens before condemning them. If you fail that opportunity, then yes you are a blight.

Ever been to Daytona or Panama City for spring break? Let me clue you in on something: they deal with the EXACT same menaces as we do this week, and it's 95% white kids.

Troublemakers are troublemakers, but we can't wave this morality wand over 200K people and assume they all deserve our criticism.

White on White you think you know so much about what goes on at SBB, you must have been right in the middle. Frankly, you need to go have your mouth washed out with soap.

Unfortunately,it's not a week just a weekend. Are you happy when the 2wks the Harley's have end? Personally I don't attend neither because MB has never welcomed blacks there anyway so I really don't know why they keep coming yearly to be charged double for everything than what the other bikers are charged.Myrtle Beach has a noise orderance so why isn't it enforced when those loud Harley's are in town. Not to mention all of the DRUG use and the WHORES at SBB(SuckBang and Blow).Guess what I'm white and I disagree with your comment.
