I understand why you're inclined to feel this way. Maryanne is no "joisey" person though. Personally, she is warm and graceful and GRATEFUL to visit and write about such a wonderful place. As an author, she portrays our beach and its residents in the very best light. Good thing she didn't meet you.

Raised in Hackettstown also and proud of it. With ignorant people like you, we'll definitely stay away from Pawleys Island. "Joisey" girls are closer to NYC. And where were you born?

Most of these People don't realize how nice and content we were in a poor man's squalor before they come with the pizza shops, strip malls and DRUGS.
