Well here is another crime involving an accident resulting in death;don't know all details but apparently he didnot flee the scene. Will our wonderful justice system punish him severly since he seems to be just your average class citizen? Probably so...while the lady in court yesterday who appears to be above average income, fleed the scene and tried to alter evidence basically gets a reprimand and slap on the wrist.Com e on people---what are we telling people? The old saying money talks and bull.... walks sure does seem to ring out loudly with truth. It will be interesting to hear the verdict for this ones crime.

I hope he does get what he deserves. Im sure he wont though, DUI in this state is a joke regardless if someone dies or not it is not taken seriously enough. There are so many people who think about those girls each and every days, so many people who can move on with their lives because their daughter or bestfriend have been taken away by this man (WHO BY THE WAY HAS HAD A DUI BEFORE) and it is just sad to know that he probably will not get the sentence he deserves. I just cant see him being truly sorry for this if he has been caught drinking and driving before, obviously it is not something that was too serious to him before, but i pray that it is now! Love and Miss you Shanna and Peaches! hope you get the justice that is owed to you and your family members today! watch over us girls!

Yes Judge Russo should have proven that Leaving the Scene would get you more time than a Felony DUI, but instead he told the citizens of Horry County, you are better off leaving them for dead and running. Good job.

Please read again and explain to me how the Wild Wings are not as responsible if not more for these unfortunate deaths! Responsibility is also on bartenders and establishments. It wasn't like this guy had a drink or 2 and got behind the wheel. Several shots of booze and making a scene isn't like he was hiding he was to drunk to drive HE WAS!
The suit shows that Nordstrom entered the Garden City Beach tavern sometime after 10 p.m. March 30, 2007, and opened a tab, then ``rapidly ordered and consumed after arrival multiple shots of liquor as well as beer.
He showed signs of being extremely intoxicated as the night progressed, the suit alleges, including ``dancing wildly with his shoes off, dancing with staff, stumbling and falling into patrons and appearing dishevelled and confused,'' according to the suit.
Nobody needs to go to there grave because of responsibility not being used. Were all brother sister fatehr grandfather the list is long. So please becarefull when drinking know your limit.
Sorry I am long winded but lost my brother to a drunk driver

Lost

I am sure that is part of the reason, but the owners actually closed the business down because they did not like how it was being run. I wish that was 100% of the reason. I am sure they are going to get what they should on their court day as well. They are just as guilty as Jeremy Nordstrom, if not more.

Hope to compare his sentence with the Murderer Easterly wonder if they will be equitable?

Oh thats right, he stayed at the scene and accepted responsibility for his actions, bet he pays a higher price and gets more time.

Good luck sir!!

Lesson here--- DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!!!!-----

Mr Nordstrom seems to be one of those folks that has little control over himself. The barkeep has a responsibility to stop serving anyone that begins acting drunk. I hope the bar made enough on booze that evening to pay for a high dollar civil suite. They did earn the right to pay for their negligence.

The grief over the loss of these two young women will never end. Alcohol causes deaths and lots of suffering and yet we appeal to young people through ads that give the impression that it makes you "cool" and "fun" to drink. When will we wake up to the harm of alcohol? We ban tobacco because of second-hand smoke. I don't understand how tobacco is worse than alcohol.

The state of SC is rewriting the DUI Laws to read as follows.
The officer in order to get a DUI must not only do field sobriety testing and breathalyzer but now must include the following items in court to get a guilty conviction:
1. A jar containing gas from the planet Jupiter
2. Water taken from 2,000 feet below sea level
3. A wild red/orange/purple dancing monkey

Once these items are obtained and the court is in session the maximum allowed punishment will be 1 minute of good talkin to by the judge or a fine of $3.45.

If SC doesn't realize the deaths from DUI are directly related to the hoops law enforcement must jump through to get a DUI conviction then the deaths will continue to go up.

It is also common damn sense when someone is drunk and driving. More and more people seem to agree with slimy defense attorneys that the officers hair wasnt parted correctly so the defendant surely wasnt drunk.
