Why is it that the media always says "adopted" children, when it is unnecessary. It is old-school and negative terminology. Adopted children are no different from biological children.

Personally as an adopted child the article does not offend me with the comment about adopted children. I personally think that you sould be looking at the main reason the article was written. Here you have two people one whom I knew, that were murdered and all you seem to focus on is the pharse adopted children. What you need to do instead of making remarks such as the one that you made is praying for these two people's families.

I also meant to add that the term adopted children is not negative.

I'm a family member and I was offended the press made an issue of adopted children. I am offended because Linda did NOT make an issue of it. They were her children. Period. Furthermore, I am offended because the press got it wrong! And even months later, after being told the correct information, they still had it wrong. They continued to imply that some of the kids were adopted, and others not. Not true. Said they were married 3 years. Not true. Said they lived on Cotton Plantation. Not true. Said Linda moved to the plantation after she and Henry were married. Not true. Implied that I had talked to the press. Not true.

Plus they repeatedly printed incorrect dates for weddings, arrests, releases, court dates, length of marriage. The Georgetown Times fabricated an interview with me!!

But the most distressing fact is that now, 9 months later, no arrests, no justice, no closure. Nothing.

Have you done any research at all about adopted children? If not, I suggest that you do so. Adopted Child Syndrome is real and present. I"m the adoptive mother of 4 children born in the 70s and 80s when US social service agencies decided to lie to prospective adoptive parents about the genetics of the children up for adoption. They lied because hardly anyone wanted to adopt children from drug addicts, HIV victims, alcoholics, etc., etc. The Social service agencies said, "just love them and everything will be fine." What an injustice done to good people who adopted. Love was not enough! Genetics are real and powerful.

My adopted children could not have been placed in a more loving home. We chose them because we couldn't have children. They grew up knowing they were adopted. I was so grateful to have them. Yet three of them began exhibiting anti social behaviors to the extreme and two ended up in jail. My son has lived a life of crime and still at it. Those two children were especially bothered about being adopted and felt there was a hole in thier lives.

I'm writing a book about this. It's real, it's frightening, and the lies have come home to roost. If this damned country made laws to open the adoption records, a lot of adopted people would find security in thier lives.
