Why hasn't Patchogue-Medford offered the residents a complete copy of the budget? Tell me where I can find it! Probably, because the 10% increase is completely in administrative salaries!!!!!!!

VOTE NO!!!!!!!!

I believe you can find the information on the website. I was just there looking at it.

Also, don't vote no because you're ignorant. Cast an informed vote, don't listen to the ignorant post above. I mean for the love of god, would you listen to someone who can't find the school budget? Try attending a board meeting, looking at the website, check in at the local high school.

Now you can make an informed decision with the budget available to you, without making a call, leaving your home or making any kind of effort

i have been a taxpayer of this school district for over thirty years. what i have seen is huge tax increases in our school budgets and a steady decline in the quality of education for our children. my children received a better education than my grandchildren are at the present time. there was a time that this school district was run efficiently. today it is not. i will vote "no" for this budget becausing voting "yes" in the past has not provided what our children are promised....excellence in education. for starters the board members should see to it that the teachers do not receive the huge increases in their salaries and the cushy benefits (without contributing as workers in other sectors must do.) why are the teachers so "priviliged?" because you allow it to happen. when i see the much lower tax increases proposed for budgets for other school districts in newsday i am disgusted.... as i'm sure other taxpayers in this area are also. please get your acts together and be realistic. we need you to stand up for us and our children and make wise and prudent changes in this budget. judith wolff

BTW, the corect number for the increase is 10.28%. Their 9.9% assertion was not only miscalculated based on the two tax rates (last year and proposed next year) presented, but what they state for last year's rate was wrong.

Vote "no" because they are either incompetent with fiscal matters or they just can't be trusted with $155 million.

Teachers do contribute to their "cushy" benefits in the Patchogue-Medford School District. Do your research before you make comments. People need to vote in members of the board that have the good interests of everyone involved, most importantly the education of our children. Voting down school budgets only hurts the children in the end. Classes with 30 or more children and packed study halls.

I am voting "No" because I am tired the tax increases every year. Enough is ENOUGH! But I do support Mr. LoShiavo and Mr. Houdek. I do believe that FINALLY after all of these years we have people on the board and running for the board that not only care for the good of the district but understand and care about the plight of the taxpayers.

And I cannot wait until Mr. Mostow's contract expires. He was a horrible choice for SI and hope a better choice is made next time.

That is the "Reader's Digest" version of the budget. Where is the complete copy, which shows you exactly how much each person and each Department is exactly getting.

So, since I can not make an informed decision, I will vote NO!!!! Last year they gave a secretary a 30% increase, others a 20%. Arent' you glad you voted yes last year!!

Did you make an informed decision last year?

What exactly is 'contractual'? It appears in almost every catagory, and I can't get out of my chair to find out lol...

Also, why does the school need a half a million dollars for legal fees? Is there some sort of litigation going on involving the school district?

I just moved into the area. The fact that you don't know basic grammar (your vs you're) doesn't say much for this school system.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Taurus

As Mars turns retro, emotional tension makes you feel as though you're walking on eggshells. The temperature has risen by several notches, making the situation at home more fraught. Better to clear the air quickly and cleanly than to sulk and brood in ways that simply prolong the agony.
