All of these children should be tried as adults. The parents of these kids are just as guilty. They have to learn it from some where. We NEED to erase color lines and get over it. Times are changing and we need to adapt. Resorting to violence is just morally wrong.

This happened in my neighborhood, and I am absolutely sickened by what happened. I am glad that they are being charged with murder.

They're all responsible, they admitted to having two other knives, and a BB gun that night. the boys that didn't even touch the guy, which I doubt happened, were there. Those boys did nothing to stop one another, they all got in a car and agreed to go beat up a Hispanic person. therefore, they are all responsible.

What should the teachers' union be doing exactly? How about the parents who are supposed to be raising their children? How about these young adults? They are not toddlers, they are 16 & 17 years old. It is difficult to teach tolerance in school when young people go home and hear their parents complaining about specific groups of people, government policy, and hear their parents using slang terms. How about the people who are actually supposed to be raising their children probably, actually do it.

patchogue is not much different than many other places, and is nicer than many. yes, the crime happened in patchogue, but the perps lived elsewhere. the overton kid actually lives in another school district, somehow got into pat-med hs after being suspended from his home school after being involved in a previos burglary/murder. pat-med hs is a violent place, and the immigrant bashing is being covered up, and something needs to be done to fix that stuff, not cover it up. when these kids are sentenced to long terms things will be better. maybe cops will do better as a reult, too.

No, it is actually a pretty nice area, you just don't live there i used to go there to that part of Suffolk county all the time. All of Suffolk is pretty nice, sure, there are a few you-know-whats, but now people like you make the 1 million+ residents and thousands of residents of patchgue look bad.
