If you don't like, then don't go. Stay home and rent Sleeping Beauty, the wicked witch is probably too scary for you anyway. Just don't go. If you don't like it, thats fine, just don't ruin it for everyone else. And yes, a teenager can walk into ANY video store that carries it and rent FACES OF DEATH, REAL DEATH, from suicide to murder to accidental dismemberment. The same people against this are the same people that don't like beer and breasts and try to shut down ADULT establishments....too bad we adults aren't allowed to make our own choices without somebody telling us how awful we are and want to create new laws banning our personal freedoms.

RCKMOM I am from macclenny too. Havent been there in yrs though. Anyhow I think there is a thin line ASPADA. There are thousands of people that face suicide every day. What if you had a depressed child or family member who sees a simulated suicide and decides they are going to go ahead and do it?

Suicide is not fun or scary, it's just depressing. Ask someone with a loved one or relative who has killed him/herself just how awesome it is. Equating it with zombies and ghouls and some such trivializes it.

It really kills me that people are always looking for a reason to complain! If you don't something DON'T go! Some of us don't take everything so seriously. Haunted House attractions are about death, blood, gore, etc. You will let your child see that stuff? What's the difference? GET OVER IT! Let you kids see the REAL world!

I really doubt that someone is going to go to one of these shows and say "Oh my god that guy just killed his self, I might try that when I get home!" GROW UP! And no one said that suicide was a laughing matter...but what's the difference in watching people that are(fausly)dead try to scare you? People are lame....!

It is the responsibilty of parents to regulate the things their children watch. I commend the parents that previewed the website and decided for themselves to not attend. We rely too much on others to censor content for our children.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, DON'T GO....simple as that!! No one is making anyone buy a ticket and stand in line to see it!! It's their option to put this in there if they want to, and it's your option to not go and see it!

I agree with the "don't go" crowd. Most of these places are only open for a very limited time every year, so that makes it very easy to simply "skip". I had a close friend who commited suicide in this manner, it's a terrible thing but it didn't start with and won't end with haunted houses.

As a parent, it’s our responsibility to decide what is appropriate for our children. Before taking mine to a movie, I do the research and decide if it’s suitable or not. If I decide it’s not – I simply don’t go see the movie. I do not demand the theatre remove the movie to prevent other children from seeing it. Looking at the Haunted Hoochie’s website, even without the warnings that are posted there, I can clearly tell that is not something I want to see nor expose my children to it. However, it does appeal to a certain demographic -it’s been around for several years and appears to be successful. There are many other Halloween activities in Central Ohio that are orientated for family fun.

Having been to plenty of haunted house type attractions, I have got to say this is NOT appropriate. Haunted houses should be about going to get scared and startled, not putting a scene in someone's mind that could mess with thoughts and dreams for years. Anyone has has endured the pain associated with a suicide at any level could be hurt by this. Just because some sickos grow up in a home where they are allowed to play the most violent video games at a young age and watch things like Faces of Death, etc... doesn't mean that it should be in a public display. Unless it is clearly spelled out before entry (and payment is made) what people will be exposed to, this is wrong. Should people have to go do internet research on everything before they go out for entertainment? Halloween in our culture today is about kids, and more broadly, adults that like to still act like kids, which is fine! But if you cut the kid stuff out, then make it 18 or older only. I am not saying shut it down, just provide ample warning, age limitations, and let those who still want to pay and go through the Haunted Hoochie do so. This is not about "wussification", it is about fair disclosure. Something like this would not have been allowed until the last 10-20 years. I think that pretty clearly removes any charge of today's world being more "wussified" than past generations. It is more an example of "tolerance and acceptance" than anything else.

The only way to give this redeeming value is if we can get politicians and advertising executives to do it.

I know parents who wouldn't dream of allowing their 12-year old kids to go to HH. But they'll let them watch CSI.

There are a lot of haunted houses in the area. Parents should make the decision as to which ones their kids will attend whether the kids are 6 or 16. Nobody else has the right to make that decision for me. If you don't like something - don't go. It's that simple. YOU don't dictate what I do any more than I dictate what you do. Worry about yourself and your family and let the rest of us take care of ours.

I am not taking a stance on this issue as I don't go to haunted houses that often, but I do find it funny that this is now an issue. I went to the Haunted Hoochie in high school some 12-13 years ago and this suicide scene was in there then. Why hasn't anyone made a stink about it previously?
