Reynoldsburg Police Dept.

My job has afforded me the opportunity to work with several law enforcement agencies throughout the country. I have to say that Reynoldsburg has been one of the best. If you read the complaints in this forum, you'll see that some people have ridiculed these officers for doing their jobs and others have complained that they are not doing their jobs. If you were to compare this department to the others around Columbus, you'll find that it is one of the best. The city has it's serious crime, but it also has one of the highest apprehension and conviction rates in the area. Before judging these men and women, try riding along with them to see exactly what it is they do. I think you'll be surprised at just how much work they do.

I have lived in reynoldsburg for 32 yrs..over the past 10 yrs I have seen the dignity of the reynoldsburg police force failing. A perfect example is what happened to me. A few months ago a man attempted to break down my door. After the police arrived it was discovered that he was looking for his ex-wife who was my neighbor. He was not arrested, just told not to come back. This past week end he came back to my home, attempted to break down my door again and almost broke my living room window. Again the police were called and STILL he was not arrested. I, on the other hand, was told by the police that I needed to settle down or I would be charged with disorderly conduct! Does that make sense to you? They said that I could get a protection order against him but they couldn't guarantee that he wouldn't come back. I don't even know this man and he is trying to break into MY home and I am the one who is told to "settle down". This is total BS!!! He should have been arrested the first time. I guess it will take someone getting seriously hurt before the police will do anything. I am totally shocked by their behavior. These men and women are suppose to protect and yet they simply ignore. I have zero respect for them.

Um, yeah, you need a little more details on that, when you say breaking down your door, do you mean knocking really loudly, or using a crowbar to attempt to pry it open? When you say almost broke your window, do you mean he looked knocked on it to get your attention or he was throwing rocks at it and it wasn't breaking. With the info you gave, it could describe anything from an angry person knocking on your door to an attempted burglary. The details are what matters.

Everyone on here that has gripes and complaints about RPD, have you bothered to file a complaint with the department? Nothing will change if you don't do something about your perceived issues. Just remember, filing a false complaint is a crime.

Would the documented facts that show they intentionally kept threats from the public lead to their resignations... along with other Reynoldsburg officials?

Got news for you, Westside much worse and listening to a bunch of dumbass complaints not a smart thing, I can guarantee you'll get these same complaints in one form or another in just about any town you go to. You are much better off doing a true search, on a reputable website that has done true research into these matters.

i was arrested on a false report and also assualted by the police in this town.. i am not even from here...i went to the er for bruises on my back, wrists, knees, and thighs.. were i am from when police act out in violence its against the law.. that is assualt, i have been called a bitch muliptle times by the police officer. i have no respect for that police officer, but maybe if we fight to get the bad ones out then we stand a chance to have the good ones who do their jobs. we cant put all cops in the same catagorey cause there are cops that do their jobs, just bad ones make it hard. and for the commment about the camera these cops know where their cameras are now what about being assualted by the side of the car with no camera?? well i have contacted a lawyer who will help me get that cop out of there so no one again gets hurt cuz of his excess force. thanks. and needless to say i will not move to reynoldsburg and still trying to get my girl to move out before something happens to her.

Reynoldsburg police are terrible!! They are gonna end up killing some innocent children someday!All they do is harrass anyone of color. Doesnt matter what they are doing! I know there are crimes going on but just because u see a black person walking down the street doesnt mean that they have done something wrong!! I have a friend who has a 20 year old son who just came home from the military and pulled them over.. When asked why??All they were asked is how and where did u get this nice car. Made him get out and frisked him, looked in the car and ran a 50. He Just came home from Iraq! These police think they are above the law.And it doesnt matter if u have done nothing wrong at all, if they say u did something. U did.It is getting out of control!!!!

Maybe if your hypothetical person of color was not walking IN the street as they walk down the street there would be no problem. I'd love for them to come down some of the 'burg streets and deal with that problem. Last time I looked it was still called Reynoldsburg, not Ghettosburg. Get your black asses up on the sidewalks where they belong!

Here is a clue for you. When RPD pulls a guy over and there is audio,video, and phone records to prove RPD is a bunch of racist, Johnny law lil ganster wanna-bees. If it was not for a few level headed officers in the RPD I would bet that there would be a bunch more complaints.

And yes they did fire several officers where fired, a chief stepped down, and a few that remained are now using their cell phones and not the police radios ( the radios are recorded)....
So know that the officer whom told you that bold face lie was not invited to be in the inner circle of coolness, or did not want you to know he was a low life piece of chit

It saddens me to see how completely unappreciative and disrespectful a lot of you are for the job that these police officers do every day. Do you realize that if someone kicked in your front door and had your family held at gunpoint, that these “terrible”“racist” officers, regardless of the color of your skin, would rush into your home to help you? If a troubled teen would open fire in your sons/daughter’s school, they would sacrifice themselves to save your child. What is wrong with the lot of you? For those of you that live in Reynoldsburg, what would you do in the middle of the night when you wake up to two masked men in your living room? I bet you’d call 911, despite your posts on this site. And guess what these RPD officers would do? They’d rush to your aid, putting themselves and their safety second to yours. Wake up and realize that their job is terribly dangerous, everyday, and most of them would sacrifice themselves for you. You want them all gone, then what type of society would Reynoldsburg be? You should be posting about how terrible these people are that rob our businesses, burglarize our homes, speed on our roadways, steal from our neighbors and assault our citizens. Reynoldsburg crime is on the rise and these officers are fighting a losing battle. You want change, BE CHANGE! If not, keep posting slanderous comments about the men and women that go out every day and try to make your community a safer place to live.

I just moved from down south to here my child had a drug problem what parts of town should I keep him from

ive lived in reynoldsburg for a few years and i will say the only thing that they are good for is stopping you in traffic and asking questions like "where have you been? what where you doing there? where are you going?" after recieving my ticket the cop kinda stalked me. i stopped at the store and he was across the street waiting for me to pull off. when i walked out to my car he pulled off and hid somewhere else (in the glen rest cemetary driveway). when i got home and in the house i look outside my window and its the same cop on the corner in front of my house! why did he feel the need to stalk and follow me home? what if i didnt go home? is he gonna pull me over again and ask me why didnt i go home? im black btw.

a few years ago im riding with my friends and a cop flies out of nowhere accusing us of almost hitting him which was bs, because if he wasnt driving with his headlights off we wouldve seen him (that is a common illegal practice that cops do at night to pull people over)that was a set up. i didnt say anything because of course... im black, and you put yourself in a very dangerous situation confronting a cop breaking the law. especially when its 4 of them.

last summer my mother n law was followed home by a irrate whiteman over a road rage issue. this man threatend to kill my mother in law and dispose her body because she allegedlly cut him off. when she picked her phone up to call the police he snatched the phone out of her hand and threw it. a few days later we found his car and called the police and had to wait a week for anything to be done. when the police finally got involved he lied to the police saying he was at home with a migraine and his wife vouched for him (after 2 days of "not being home"). and nothing came of it. i know if i did something like that my black ass would have been indentified on the spot, arrested and charged with anything they could charge me with. there would be no benefit of the doubt. there would be no wife story to get me out of a charge. this guy lives right up the street, and even though she is able to indentify him they where no help.

im a black man that follows the law, pay taxes and raise kids in reynoldsburg. im not one of these low lifes with face tattoo's and dreadlocks that sits infront of Nicks Market asking people for change to buy a blunt wrap. i alsio have law abiding friends that refuse to come visit me in reynoldsburg and its not because of the drive, its because of the police. everybody knows this. 2 things you dont do reynoldsburg if your black: drive at night and tinting your windows.
