Congrats to the court! May you have a great time being ambassadors for the parade and the Tournament of Roses. Queen Natalie, you appear as gracious and kind in your photos as you do in person. What an amazing experience for a 16-year-old! Again, congrats to you all...

Ditto!!!!

Looking forward to the best show on earth on New Year's day - topped with a Queen and Court that all we can admire. Big smiles, ladies...big, beautiful smiles.

Having seen and heard this year's Court, last year's Rose Court members were far more articulate and better looking IMO

Whatever happened to supporting our youth? Why is it important or relevant for you (you know who you are) to make such derogatory comments about our children? Regardless of where they live or attend school, they are representative of a fine Pasadena tradition - a tradition viewed by millions around the world.

Rather than arm-chairing your insults try envisioning yourself as a 16 year old being insulted, and in some cases, humiliated, for no other reason except for being chosen. Shame on you.

I see an unwritten quota...

One African-American
One Latina
One Asian
One mixed race

One, no more than two, from PUSD
One from PCC every three years or so
At least half from neighboring public schools (supports community relations)

The black girl or mixed race is usually from PUSD (kills two birds with one stone)
The Asian from Arcadia or San Marino (same reason as above)

The queen is never from PCC because, let's admit it, only a "failure" would go to PCC, right?

The last PUSD queen was the also the one and only black girl, and that was 25 years ago. I suspect that if there is ever another girl from PUSD chosen as queen, she will be black (and that would be FINE), if we can wait that long...

For once, TofR Queen and Court committee, you need to open your eyes! There ARE girls in PUSD with queen ability. They have been marginalized for TOO LONG!!!!

It was the right decision to have the son of the late TofR president to crown the queen. Brilliant!

Yeah, they are usually from good schools and neighborhoods. Most from well to do backgrounds. These girls have parents with money and credit cards at their disposal. Most students attending public Pasadena schools are mostly minorities (black and hispanic), not something that the Rose Court looks for. However, they always select a black, an oriental and a hispanic girl so they cannot be accused of discrimination.

What a wonderful and beautiful Rose Bowl Court. Congratulations to the City of Pasadena and the Rose Bowl officials for some great choices. This group is one of the best in years, big improvement over last year.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Cancer

Take things gently otherwise you'll end up running round in ever-decreasing circles. Yes, you may still have a lot to do but you won't achieve very much if you develop butterfingers or waste all your energy on a full-blown panic. Maybe you could rope someone into helping you, rather than doing your Cinderella act in the kitchen while everyone else takes it easy?
