Glendora does not need any more divisiveness. This is an obvious attempt by the rebal rousers associated with the loser John Hareld to divide the city again. This is a bad idea for Glendora or any city that wants representation that serves the entire city not some special interest.
All citizens should have the right to vote for the people that will vote and affect their lives. Local politics are really the most important, and we need accountability.

Glendora proposal would end citywide council elections - Pasade...
If a proposed ballot measure to split the city into districts eventually succeeds, it will be the fourth in the San Gabriel Valley to abolish citywide council elections.

You are right Jim. We Glendorans do not need any more divisiveness. We here in Baja Glendora would like to have our own district so that our ideas just might have a chance to be heard. I personally do not think John Harrold (not Hareld) is a rebel (not rebal). We here in Baja got 4700+ signatures to try to get the proposed living assisted facility at BC&G to blend in with the neighborhood. Mayor Herman & council people did not listen. Its NIMB (Not In My Neighborhood). They are in UPPER Glendora zip 91741 and could care less about what happens down here!

I feel the voters of Glendora (all) will be able to decide for themselves when this iniatiative is presented to them and they are asked to vote.
Who knows better then the voters? If a cities council does not have the voice of the people then who are they really speaking for? Put it to the test and let the people vote. |

A notice to "ALL" Glendora registered voters.

As someone who used to be a homeowner on Dover in "Baja" Glendora, I would have been much happier had we had districts ten years ago. I often felt like City Hall, on the other side of the hill and the 210, didn't understand our community and needs.
I am glad I sold my home before all the development at Lone Hill and Gladstone -- the idea of 91741 benefitting from the taxes, but not suffering from all the traffic and hassles suffered by the folks in 91740? I'd have had a heart attack in anger long ago. |

1 The largest problem we have with the current city council is they TOO don't think before they shot their mouth OFF. |

City Council in Glendora are Draconian. Not to mention, when the people decide to oppose anything, the first thing council does is do business in closed door session. This is illegal by the way and they continue to get away with it because those who get paid in police are in conflict with council thus, legal matters do not get investigated, prosecuted and fined and/or sent to prison for these white collar crimes.
I've attended several council meetings and the process is nothing more than a facade while the real agenda is processed without public view or concerns. Communist is the word that comes to mind and then another is treason. |

A correction to this post the logo on the side of these trash containers for the Glendora Farmers Market held every Thursday on Glendora Ave. across the street from City Hall.
What happened to our council's assurances that this company Athens thrash was a solid company? and would not be bought out by another trash hauling competitor? But there is something odd this time, instead of all the trash containers (cardboard) and stenciled with Athens Trash, there a new logo in town tonight WASTE MANAGEMENT what happened to that exclusive (sweet heart) contract Athens had for "ALL" trash pick up in Glendora, California? One theory is that Athens Trash has been bought lock stock and barrel by Waste Management Co. |

Could lose funding? They got their hands and backside blistered pretty good in Superior Court!
The bad blood between L.AA. County and the city of Glendora, that when a county Supervisor came for a City Council Special Meeting at the Dawson Teen Center Thursday 05.15.2008 at 8:00 am. Douglas "F" Tessitor and Gary "M" Clifford didn't even bother to show up! How do you like that for being told "don't bother showing up because your not wanted?" The reason might be the bad blood is still a little wet, thats been spattered on the ceiling an walls from the last blistering the County Supervisor gave those two "bad boys." |

What the Judge had to say about the Clifford/Marshall LAW SUITE
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Terry Green said that, from his perspective, the lawsuit involves "small town politics" and "a campaign prank" and "should never go before a jury". "For people on the sidelines it really looks silly," Green said. "This is a campaign prank. I just don't see a jury getting worked up about this." "I think you ought to go out there and have a block party and shake hands," said Judge Green. Virgina Marshall, Keleigh's mother, said Friday that she was "not bothered by the judge's comments about the case being silly, as her daughter's side is very interested in ending the case". "We have wanted to settle this for a long time..." |

During this weeks Planning Commission Meeting 5.20.2008 in Glendora, CA. It announced:
WE DON'T HAVE TO PROVIDE LOW INCOME HOUSING! IN SHORT WE WILL KEEP THEM OUT! BECAUSE WE ARE A GATED COMMUNITY / CITY STATE-WITH OUR OWN KING! Glendora mislead the public as to the real meaning of CA. Stae laws concerning LOW INCOME HOUSING REQUIREMENTS. |

During this weeks Glendora City Council meeting 5.27.2008 it was announced that a appeal to the already lost case involving L.A. County was in the works, with hopes of regaining $26.0 million dollars on appeal?
Except in the same documents presented at this meeting it was announced that at best the City of Glendora counld hope for was $12.0 million dollars, whats going on here? Are the citizens of Glendora being used for some wild scheme like they have in Las Vegas? And you know who wins there, the house. L.A. County is the house in this case so who's going to win and who's going to lose? |

OK, I’ll go ahead and admit it. Recalled Mayor John Harrold's angry little camp of malcontents has failed, time and again, to get someone that WE like on the city council. We can’t do it through the front door, so we’re going ahead with our districting end-run through the back door.
Hey We could win a council seat with 200 or less votes. Wish us Luck, |

The message typed in by poster #17 is a phoney moniker and using someone else sign on, sounds like waht the slimy city council or thye GOB's would do.

South end gets traffic
In Glendora, it seems that Joe Santoro is the new mouthpiece for the masters of the city. He takes up the cry that anyone interested in breaking the stranglehold that this City Council has on the city is nothing more than a group of naysayers trying to pit north against south. Look at what the Doug Tessitor-purchased council has done for the city. In the southern section we got the Marketplace with its increased traffic, noise and pollution. We got Diamond Ridge with more traffic, noise and pollution. We got a white elephant of an assisted living center with more traffic, noise and pollution. On the assisted living center, 4,000 residents signed a petition to deny the building as planned. The council thumbed their noses at those citizens. But wait, an election is coming so the council cancels the permit, gets re-elected then conveniently reinstates the permit. We got an expanded Louis Pompeii Park along with the increased traffic, noise and pollution. This project was important for the city because it was for the kids. Kids need a place to practice and play sports. Let's see what the north got. Not much here to write about. Oh yeah, they got a promise to never have lights put at Goddard or Sanburg schools. So, I will be one of his so-called naysayers and ask the people of the south to use their power at the ballot box to throw the bums out. No tricks, no sham permit cancellations or lies will fool the good people again. Ralph Patton Glendora |

A little back ground on the John Harrold Recall
Sonny Marshall was in office 90 days before the recall started. He was part of the Harrold, Jacobs, Marshall Council Majority that: 1. Fired ALL of the Commissioners (angering them and ALL their friends); 2. Fired the City Attorney and then hired his replacement after a blatant CRIMINAL VIOLATION of the Brown Act; and Finally, the straw that broke the camel's back, number 3, the firing of the City Manager, Gary Napper! Napper was a very popular City Manager, who had a lot of friends in the community. It was the Friends of the Fired commissioners and the Friends of the Fired Gary Napper, that put together their votes and the votes of THEIR friends that caused the recall, and caused the recall to succeed. Their problem is that those people that they Fired, have a lot more friends than those that did the Firing! Harrold has no one to blame for his FIRING but HIMSELF (and Jacobs and Marshall). They over-reached and paid for it! |

Little known facts surrounding the law suit and legal action that will take place November 03, 2008 - gary's on the HOT seat and he will most likely have to sing like a canary in order to save his backsides - so the GOB's Club has gathered money to protect gary and themselves.
There is another plan in place to protect the GOB's Club members and leave gary hanging in the wind like dirty laundry, the facts are too hard to believe but true and that's what gary know's will happen unless he plays along with the GOB's Club first plan. If that fails then he knows what will happen next, he will be asked to take the fall on his own and leave the GOB's Club members out of the lime light and other connections to criminal activites. |
