Sheriff seeks illegal immigrant inmates

Michael Antonovich and Lee Baca are among the very few sane government officials we have in Los Angeles County. I wish our Los Angeles City councilmembers, mayor, and chief of police could be as sensible.

Baca should be fired for not complying with Federal Law along time ago. He is no hero. Either he wants something or he is up to something.
They need to pass the Jamal Shaw law if they are serious. I find it crazy that Baca can pick how our Federal Laws are applied and who they are applied to. Our immigration laws are not broken they are not being enforced.
We need to wake up and hold morons like Baca accountable and demand that they do their job 100% no if's and or buts.

If I break the law as a citizen of the U.S.A. I get punished. ILLEGALS (Note the term automatically means you broke the law) do what they want and escape to home if it's really serious and the police do nothing to them. Every cop found not doing his job should be arrested and or fired

It's about time. Save money. Save jail space. Save the community. Save Grace.

Deport them.

Well it is about time. I am sure Tony V will protest.

Without meaningful immigration reform, securing the borders isn't this just throwing money at a problem without addressing the underlying causes?
Or is it transferring the money for trial/jail time to deporting then recapturing when they return?

It is a cycle that seems to be unbreakable and all we do is shift money around without reducing the costs.

Absolutely about time they start the deportation of these incarcerated illegals that cost us tax payers...
The civil rights groups need to step aside from looking after the civil rights of the illegals and back up the civil rights of the "Legal American citizens"!

Seems like a waist of time sometimes, we deport they come right back, we deport they come back it just keeps going over and over. I say deport them once the shoot there buts the second time and end this crap of back and forth. There waisting allot of tax payer money by just sending them back over and over.

AS a third generation Mexican-American I can identify with the frustation on many levels when it comes to illegal immigrants and gang bangers. I don't think it's fair to say that " Mexican's are the cause for all the trouble that is happening in society today . Yes, we need to do something about illegal immigrants coming over to the U.S , Yes we need to depart all illegals and gang members because they are leeching and not contributing to society . I don't think a child born here or as you call anchor babies should be able to stay here. Why should they their parents don't have a job so why should we support them . these anchor babies can go back to whichever country they came from with their parent . I know that there are a lot of hard working illegal immigrants but why don't they just do it the right and legal way like so many others before them . If you want to be here and live the American dream , than do it just do it right .I really believe that we need to get ride of welfare and public assistance for all, and help the senior citizens of the United States who worked their butts off for many years to just have enough to survive. THe illegals live and get more than the AMerican people.Give more money to the vetrans who fought and protected this country . SPEnd more money on education . I get frustrated when I see Mexican flags flying and people protesting saying things about this being Mexico and " proud to be Mexican . DOn't get me wrong I love the color of my skin and who I am but we aren't in Mexico , yes this use to be Mexico but it isn't anymore . At last, someone made the obvious decision, and its about time to do something about California's status as the gang capitol of America, and the leader in illegal immigrants in America. Our economy is in shambles, largely due to the combination of out of control social spending and subsidies for illegal immigrants by taxpayers. Congratulations to our politicians who made these stands. The "Illegal Sanctuary Cities" of Los Angeles and San Francisco should do likewise. Public pressure needs to be brought to bear on those politicians who knowingly make policies that violate federal laws. California is in fiscal and social crisis now, and the same failed policies cannot continue.

Is Lee Baca the only guy that has any common sense in L.A. County.

Deport the criminal aliens already. Man, why didn't this happen ten years ago?

Don't ever forget that public pressure on your inept politicians has led to this decision.

This is only the first step in cleaning up our streets. But it's a good start.

These politicians, advocates, pundits, better realize that illegal immigration is not going to be an issue they can brush under the rug. It's no longer Democrat versus Republican, or in this case Democrats are adverse to the original planned border fence and anything that has a sweet smell of rigid immigration enforcement.

Amnesty is nothing more than political suicide for any politician. It's also extremely unpopular with the American people.
