Orville Collier Sr. went peacefully home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 20, 2012, being 89 years, 10 months and 3 days.

This was my papaw he was a highly favored man.He was always there to lend a helping hand,help you up,or just talk a few things over with you.He was a great and wise man i wish i would have ggot to spend a little more time with him it seems like 8 and half years ant enough to spend with a person with so much knowledge and honorable personalite.he will always be remembered and misserd i love you papaw your grandson. blake watts

I used to work with an Orville Collier at IBM, this wouldn't be him would it?

Orville from the college? He was indeed a fine man. One of the nicest people you could ever meet. I miss him and Ralph a lot. I thought of Ralph as kinda of like a second father. Both very fine men and not many boys from this area will grow up and be this type of man unfortunately. Your grandpa and Ralph are a dying breed of fantastic people from the Harlan area, there aren't many left. Do everyone and your family a blessing, be like your grandpa!:) Cherish what time you got with your grandpa, some never got any with their grandparents, including myself.
