Full story: Newsday

Look at how much the government thieves stole of his winnings. They're taking almost two thirds of it. When you lose they don't return two thirds of your loss. Revolution - an idea whose time has come.

I think you've missed something...

The winner took the lump sum option which is about half of the winnings. The IRS takes 25% of that...

All lottery winners in the U.S. are part of the public record because each state's lottery system is a department of the state government...

However, there are ways to protect the identity of lottery winner depending on the state. If the lottery winner creates a PC (Professional Corporation) or a LLC (Limited Liabiliity Company), the attorney that did the legal work can be used as trustee and keep the principals identity private. Not sure if South Dakota allows this...

How does a "struggling" anyone afford to spend $15 or $20 for a pie in the sky payback. He has won and I wish him all the goodness that he can have. I dont think this is the way for anyone who is struggling to alleviate their problems. I bet the lottery commissions love his so they can get more people to bet (over their heads as this fellow).

I don't believe he will blow it. Most lottery winners who say they will blow it do. People who say they won't squander the money don't, they do indeed view it as a blessing, an answer to a prayer -- which I'm sure it was -- and understand the chance they have been given.

It is so nice to see someone who works hard and struggles come across good fortune. This is a fortune of many lifetimes. I hope he keeps his head and invests and protects his fortune wisely. He appears to possess the desire to assist those who need assistance like his neighbors did for him. I wish him well.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Gemini

Mercury will backtrack through your finances over the next few weeks, which isn't a very seasonal thought if you're already well aware that you've overspent this month. Be prepared to do some juggling or to seek expert advice if you're worried about how you're going to cope. You may be kept busy handling inheritance, tax or insurance matters, preparing investment analysis, and allocating funds for the repayment or collection of debts.
