I agree with you. Remember in the Bible God says "I will give you pastors after my own heart. Do not discount the gift of a pastor because God has prepared pastors for us, don't paint all the pastor with this Jamal Bryant brush. Unfortunately when the media decides to highlight the church or people of God it all too often only highlights the negative. There are many who truly live by God's Word and correctly teach it, I'm not at all endorsing Mr. Bryant, but I would like to remind everyone that Jesus himself taught in Matthew 7:15-17 that there would be false prophets and He told us how to recognize them. Finally, I would like us to take a look at ourselves and examine what it is we folk to and support. I knew an old AME preacher, he wasn't well known, didn't preach at the "big" churches he had what is called a circuit (several small churches) on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, he lived in the Baltimore area. He shared with me at times the people he served begrudged him gas money (why do we treat people this way?). He was faithful though and continued to serve these people, married their child and buried their loved ones visited them while they were sick, in short he helped maintain the religious aspect of their culture, yet they did not even want to purchase his gas. There was a small AME church in Cockeysville, where the pastor paid the oprating bills of the church out of her own pocket (we never hear about these types of scandals). I was part of a ministry where we paid the intial cost of getting people in drug and alcohol treatment, we paid for their HIV medicince and toiletries, while they were in treatment and when they came out they joined a church much larger than ours because it was in waliking distance (this type of activity would never be extensively talked about why?), yet it did not have any type of outreach. Mr. Bryant's ministry is pretty worldly with its advertising and materialistic imagery does what it is designed to do attract people and compels them to give, it is marketing at its best perhaps this is why it is so materialistically succeseful. At any rate it is the people who stay at ET, and support it (only heaven knows why), and if they continue to support it the real question is why? Maybe if the pastor is so imperfect in front of the world putting Christ to an open shame, they can look at their own immoral behaviors and feel that its out to be married, but live with a man whose not your husband. What can a pastor like this one say them about their behaviors, couldn't answer him like the Hebrew slave answered Moses the day after he killed the Egyptian overseer?

We need to send emails protesting their story on Jamal. Ebony needs to start telling the truth. The whole truth, and stop being used as propoganda machines for the black elite and "stars". I will post the email address on this website when I get a chance. Come on people. Lets show our media that we expect more from them. whatiswiththisman wrote: he is sick and ebony has failed us all (black folks) by advertising his lies... Dorothy wrote: Claris, I'm with you. I can't speak to this Bryant's infidelity or his motivations PERSONALLY, but, folks, really, look at how he promotes his church. I live in Baltimore (new to the area) and he advertises like he's a McDonalds or something. I just went to the church's website, and superimposed over the main page image of a BMW (my lord!) is a pop-up of his feature in this month's EBONY. My God, people, were are the images of the church's ministries???? I'm not one for false images of God (as none of us knows what Jesus looked like) but even Michelangelo's portrait (shaded brown, of course) would be a better VISION of this center of worship's mission and work than A BMW or airbrushed images of a dapper pastor and his "former model" wife!!!! Where are the congregants? the children? the ministries? The Bentleys, the Rolex's, the women (and their children) are all just too much for me...and clearly tell me where this "brother" is coming from. But, that's just me.(And, I don't have to call anybody names or be cruel to state my opinion.) We all--black people especially--need to find our "inner church" and stop idolizing these men (and women) in $2000 dollar suits and study the word for ourselves, worship God in our own ways, or at least subscribe to a decent and good way of life if you do not believe in God/Jesus--and realize a life of blessings through good, healthy living and service to others. And, now, I'll step off the soap box and put the remainder of my $.02 in my pocket. Be well, people, and don't let this guy get under your feathers. Let truth ring out, tho. And, those that chose to follow behind this cat...let em! They must need him. He with out sin cast the first stone. Look in the mirror. I'm a very good friend of Pastr Jamals. I stand beside him, behind him and in front of him 100% God Bless You, Stay in the word.

I pray that even if Pastor Jamal did it that this trial will make him and his ministry even stronger just because of those who want to see him and his ministry go down. No I'm not condoning the sin, but I do know that he has a great anointing on his life, and we that are spiritual should restore such through our prayers and not try to tear him down. This is why the body of Christ is so weak now because people want to glory in people's faults. We must stop this. God is not pleased!!! Thank you I stand on that with you 100%. Pastor Jamal Bryant is covered in the blood. No weapon formed against him shall prosper. God Bless You my child, Evangelist

I am sure that is what the money changers, the Pharisees and Scribes said when Jesus grabbed a whip and kicked over their tables. Do you all forgive the priests, mministers and rabbis that have been accused of abuse? Or is your forgiveness saved for those who give "powerful sermons?" Do any of you serial "forgivers" have any recollection of what He said when He kicked them out of his temple.
TIME to kick up some dust in this temple!

I don’t know what Bible you read or church you attend but I sincerely pray that the Lord will remove the scales from your eyes and give you understanding.(key – you must really want it!!!) Sexual immorality is JHB’s vice. God gave us specific instructions on how to deal with sexual immorality in the church. 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8 It is God's will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you. For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. Therefore, he who rejects this instruction does not reject man but God, who gives you his Holy Spirit. Colossians 3:4-6 When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because of these, the wrath of God is coming. 1 Corinthians 5:9-13 I have written you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. With such a man do not even eat. What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside. "Expel the wicked man from among you." If you notice, the entire first epistle to the Corinthians is dealing with carnality. In other words, the message of the cross should transform lives of those who claim Jesus Christ as their Lord and Personal Savior. However, much like the people of Corinth, most Black people who attend mega churches are destroying their own testimony because of immorality and lack of unity. God loves and forgives JHB. However, someone within the congregation should fear God enough to stand up and demand that he step down or be removed. The sad thing is that their silence is sanctioning his sexual immoral behavior and now those within leadership of the church will also have to give an account. I pray that God gives you grace, strength and wisdom to stand for what is Holy and what is righteous.

Ummm,Precious we get the point. However, admirable your loyalty, your multiple postings suggests a slight obsession with Jamal.
Anyway, I read the article and it make no mention of the daughter Naomi, and lists at least twice that Jamal received a Ph.D from Oxford...which is erroneous.
That reporter should have done a better job investigating her story and making sure she got her facts straight.

My BIBLE tells me that a just man falleth 7 times and get back up and gets back in line. Evangelist Mr or Ms. Evangelist, Please hear me and hear me clearly. Everyone on this blog is NOT gossipping or trying to tear down JHB. Some of these people are talking out of hurt because they put their confidence in someone that let them down. Now I can see someone that has been in church for a while, but those that are babes in Christ may not be able to handle this and this is there way of expressing their hurt. You're not talking like a mature person in the Lord right now and to hog up the blog is very immature. Finally, Its a difference to fall and to willfully sin. It's a difference! and I believe that if the holy spirit is in JHB that it should had convict him before he committed the sin. When are we going to stop taking up for sinners? We're not helping them by taking up for them. Yes pray for them but they must be held accountable like each of us when we sin. I will say one thing I heard John Hagee said on TBN earlier today, "Judgement is Coming to America" and it's going to start in the church!
