When will people stop finding excuses for Jamal? He had a lot of opportunities to use a cohdom. He is advising young people. What has happened, is entirely his fault. He should go to jail or lose all just for being stupid. I have lost all respect for him. How can he tell anyone anything? I would not believe him if it were true. Trust and believability have gone "out the window."

He brought everything on himself and should suffer for it. He cannot blame anyone else.

Certainly not a believer or follower of Jesus, if thats what your implying? My heritage did not encourage a belief system. I only value the bible manuscript in light of its historical content.I did not mean to imply that I thought that men today have the word of the biblical God written on their hearts. Men of today claim the bible & spirit as your source of divine guidence, right? When you say, "God is the same, I say sure, however, people, places and events are not". The biblical God is specfic when it comes to the above named. He does not request everyone to build an Ark or follow the Law of Moses or go into all the world. Does it make sense, that Paul would send a correspodence to Timothy & the people of that day would, take & duplicate it and preach & teach from it for years, that is less than likely. Or his letters to Philippi, would be reproduced and preached week to week, that would be irresposible to adhere to such a concept. Isn't that whats going on today when a preacher in Houston, Tx says "turn with me to the Book of Philippians, and see what the word of God is saying to "US" this mornig". That is a disengenuous statement, isn't it what Paul was saying to those at Philippi? Why can't the biblical God speak through today's proclamied men of God, as he did then? Can't quite understand how, questioning belief issues can generate hostile responses? Just makes me wonder, anyway, thanks for the question, hope it helps.
It does; and I pray that my responses to you haven't been hostile for that was not my intention.

So, if I'm understanding you correctly, you're saying that Ecc 1:9 is false?

I firmly belive that what was, is. Meaning that pride is pride, love is love, etc.

The circumstances by which one arrives at pride or love or anything else, may change, as the seasons do; but the bottom line of a thing doesn't change.

Am I making any sense?

What if God did tell a man to build an ark? What, then? You'd call him 'crazy', correct.

But, I submit to you, what if he, indeed, DID hear the voice of God and God, for whatever reason, told that person to build an ark; would you believe, then?

If you would believe then, my next question would be, why? Why do you need a 'sign' for you to believe?

This, my dear friend (may I call you 'friend'), is the essence of our faith.

Forget an ark. What about cancer? If a person said to you,'I'm going to pray to God so that He can eliminate the cancer cells in my mother's body', would you laugh at them, call them 'crazy'?

Hmmm.......

I submit to you that the things that some folks, maybe even most folks, pray for are silly; and moreover, unimportant in the eyes of God.

I believe that if we started to put works to our faith that God would really show up and show out on behalf of those that believe.

Perhaps, I'm getting ahead of myself. Let me summarize.

While Paul and the rest were writing about what God was doing during their times, he was giving us a blueprint as to what to do when these SAME things occur now.

I also believe Paul was giving us a glimpse of that which was prophesied (which I believe hasn't happened, yet).

I believe Paul and what he writes in Heb 11:6; I believe Peter in 1 Peter 1:21; I believe John in 1 John 5:1.

tiger80, my brother, it takes faith.

And,'faith' has NO rationale.

That's what makes it so incredible.

Be Blessed, my dear brother (may I call you 'brother')

:)

One last thing, tiger80, I assume that you believe in God.

Am I wrong in that assumption?

I have not found your remarks to be hostile in nature, I was referring to some others. Of course were friends, we all share a planet, don't we.:-)Thank you for what you have comunicated, don't really get the Eccl 1:9 point. Do I believe in a "divine being", is that what you mean by "God"? if so,No, I have no evidence in support of a "God" at this junction in life. I refuse to allow others to label me, you know atheist, theist, those labels only serve to further polarize and divide our civilazation. I know that several religions claim ownership of a God or diety & each has a supporting manuscript. Thats about it, talk to you again.

So, if you can't touch it, it ain't real; is that your stance?

I'm asking because I'm trying to get a feel for who are as an individual (as much as one can get from the Internet).

Tiger 80, may I ask this question.

You say you don't believe in God. I respect that. However, try and see it this way. Do you work? If so how do you know that after working 40 or 80 hours your going to receive a paycheck? Let alone how do you know the check will clear your bank? You don't do you? You hope that check will be valid. However, you still go to work everyday.

Well having faith in God The Father is the same. You know He is who He says He is!

Tiger 80 May I ask you a question. You say you dont believe in God of "divine being".

Do you work? If so how do you know that after working a 40 or 80 hour pay period your going to get paid? Not only get paid how do you know the check that is direct deposited will clear? You don't do you? You hope the company you work for as the funds to clear the amount of your payroll.

Having faith in God The Father is believing He is who He says He is. He made the mountains. He made the sea. He allowed the good and the bad to happen in this world. He can do whatever He wonts to do but fail.

I have tried him to many times to doubt Him. I'm not saying don't be logical but try with your heart and your head you may like it.

Peace

I did not want to take up anymore thread space, but o.k, of course I know there are things that exist, that I cannot see, i,e cells, dna strain, a virus, countries and so on even a expansive universe. But only based on the supporting evidence that lens credence to those claims. When you presented me with the "what if" scenarios, such as the Ark, what if's comflicts with rational thought. I personaly don't process life by "what might or might not happen". Maybe your correct it has to do with the thing you call "faith", which cancels the rationale thought process. Take care.

Just heard that there is a feature story in the most recent Ebony about Jamal. Obviously the reporter must have written the story before all this nonsense, rumors, and otherwise were made public. LOL, wonder if they'll be any retractions...it'll be interesting to see the letters to the editor in the next issue

This is something to think and pray about. I think that when people are in powerful positions such as jamal bryant, they tend to think that they can do whatever they want. But the devil is a liar!!!!! Pastor Jamal should ask God for forgiveness and then deal with his wife, church, children, issues, ect. I also believe that if he becomes open and clean with his church there will be more forgiveness and compassion and they will get through it. However, if the young lady is under age as it has been stated, he should pay the penalty as any other person would.

So far, there is no verifiable proof that there's some other woman.

Just the fact that he had a baby and has never mentioned her until here recently.

You are stupid, and obviously not a Baltimorean, do you not read or pay attention to anything idiot, yes forgive me but you have given me reason to call you that. Didn't I tell you that I grew up with this man and he has always been a mess and a womanizer, fool. It is people like you that makes him the way he is. I wish I had a few good fools too. I do not wish him any ill will I'm tired of the entire country talking about it, He has become the 'joke' of clergymen all the radio jocks are calling him stupid, you have thing for him and that is so obvious, try to be a little less revealing, see youare part of the problem....

The name-calling shows a sign of immaturity.*sigh*

So, you know of this info. Then, gather your facts; get your peoples together and put an end to these rumors/facts.

You're correct, I'm not a Baltimorean.

It's not ME who's part of the problem. It's folks like YOU; not wanting to speak up to the folks that matter (i.e. the media).

If there are 'fools' then it's the women who KNEW JHB's status and STILL slept with him AND had his child(ren).

Don't get mad at me because I'm not one for scuttlebutt.

Get this 'truth' out in the open, where it belongs. Stop posting on these blogs and start speaking to them media.

THEN, and only then, will JHB have to make moves. Until then, he'll stay where he is; and you'll be where you are; and the truth......

well, I guess we'll see in another 7 or 8 years, huh?

Be blessed, sis.

Agreed.

As has been stated, it's time for the BOC to start speaking out publically about all manner of impropriety; in and out of the church.

Claris, I'm with you.

I can't speak to this Bryant's infidelity or his motivations PERSONALLY, but, folks, really, look at how he promotes his church. I live in Baltimore (new to the area) and he advertises like he's a McDonalds or something. I just went to the church's website, and superimposed over the main page image of a BMW (my lord!) is a pop-up of his feature in this month's EBONY. My God, people, were are the images of the church's ministries???? I'm not one for false images of God (as none of us knows what Jesus looked like) but even Michelangelo's portrait (shaded brown, of course) would be a better VISION of this center of worship's mission and work than A BMW or airbrushed images of a dapper pastor and his "former model" wife!!!! Where are the congregants? the children? the ministries? The Bentleys, the Rolex's, the women (and their children) are all just too much for me...and clearly tell me where this "brother" is coming from. But, that's just me.(And, I don't have to call anybody names or be cruel to state my opinion.)

We all--black people especially--need to find our "inner church" and stop idolizing these men (and women) in $2000 dollar suits and study the word for ourselves, worship God in our own ways, or at least subscribe to a decent and good way of life if you do not believe in God/Jesus--and realize a life of blessings through good, healthy living and service to others.

And, now, I'll step off the soap box and put the remainder of my $.02 in my pocket.

Be well, people, and don't let this guy get under your feathers. Let truth ring out, tho. And, those that chose to follow behind this cat...let em! They must need him.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Virgo

You're feeling restless and need to introduce as much variety into your day as possible. However, you'll want this to be on your own terms, and you certainly won't like it if plans are changed without your consent or you feel you've lost control of the situation. Try to take everything in your stride, otherwise you'll end up feeling exhausted and frazzled.
