Student accused of assaulting teacher at Hinkley H.S. in Aurora...

Obviously, Hinkley is a school with a lot of problems. Overall, it is a great school with the IB program and other special opportunities that some students travel great distances to open enroll it. However, the recent incidents are indicative of big problems. I have a son on the boy's soccer team. I was deeply saddened to hear of the abuse. My heart goes out to the victims and their families. I have many people poo--poo this event. If this had happened to a young lady on the bus, people would understand why this is important.

I think it sad to see that all you people want to do is look at the bad thing that has happen at my school when we have done a lot of good things. The same week this happen we had a breast cancer volley ball game but no one is talking about that or the fact that a lot of the kids at my school take time out of there day to go and help the speacl needs kids in our school.We rise money and give all of it to a lot of charity.Our school does a lot of good so do let a few bad apple give a bad name to my school

I understand the seriousness of the crime that occured on the school bus, also the seriousness of the assault of a substitute teacher. However, Hinkley's reputation is being completely soiled due to actions being reported on the news that happen everyday at every school. Students argue with their teachers over cell phones every single day in every single school. Hinkley is only getting the attention because of the prior incident reported in this week. The soccer team is under investigation over something that was meant to be a joke turned serious. They are being punished. The school itself should be left out of these grievances.

No, actually, this stuff DOESN'T happen every day, fortunately. All schools have their issues, granted- and when they are aggregious, it makes the news. Seems like the administration at Hinkley has some work to do cleaning things up- I hope this publicity spurs them to make a more desireable environment for good kids and good teachers.

if we a s parents do not teach our children respect how can we expect them to respect others? This incident at hinkley is not so uncommon - and YES it does happen everyday just not to this extent....why such a big deal...the kid assaulted - PHYSYCALLY - a teacher (it could be anyone else)....criminal charges SHOULD be made....

Thats what happens when the majority of the students parents could probably care less about their child. And no it doesn't happen everyday, kids at other schools know the rules. When u grow up with no rules and what school is about. Sounds like it's pretty much a big old daycare and free breakfast and lunch place. Gee how did we ever survive in high school without a cell phone.... hmmmm

Enough with the news on Aurora this isn't news its slander.

I attented Hinkley a little over 10 years ago, and from the sound of it not much has changed. It is sad.

Dont mess with a teens phone

I understand that our school is out of control right now, but it's so annoying to have FOX for two days outside of our school(Hinkley High School), you guys are disturbing our education!!
Please understand that there are students who actually care about their education, and go to "Hinkley High School" to learn, please find a better way report all this, and leave our campus alone!! I'm also surprise that our school is supporting FOX to report all these, when they don't support us(students) in our academic succes!

Hinkley wasnt a bad school untill the school district got ride of mosby. he was the best thing that happen to hinkley. i dont know if any other student fells the way i do but i do not feel that the school is safe anymore. there are boges rules that makes us seem like hinkley middle school or even hinkley elementary school. the recent events are due to the actions of the admin. of hinkley. hinkley was only in the news once with the sports trainer. that didnt happenin in the school that happen a while ago out side of school. the recent events happen in and by the staff supervision...it is not the falt of the students, it is the fault of the prinicpal, and the athlectic director, and the coaches.

Too many people are just letting their children go through life doing whatever they want.
Because it is easier then being a parent and making your kids behave.
Time to make the parents stay home and babysit their little angel.
After a couple of weeks of this they will understand how much a their their child is.
This will let the kids who want to learn do so free from the crap these students are pulling in school.
Also the cell phones need to be turned off in school.
How does that phone improve your childs ability learn?
It doesn't the teacher does you need teach your child some manners and respect for the teacher.

I'm just curious, what was the race of the student? What was the race of the teacher?

And before I learn that, I would say the student, whatever her race, deserves a public whipping, assault charges filed as an adult, the absolute maximum penalty allowed by law, and expulsion from the Aurora Public Schools. Maybe then the b**ch's parents will take notice and correct her attitude.
