Paris police turn Sunday fatal shooting over to a grand jury

The Paris Police Department has identified the victim in a Sunday shooting in the 2800 block of Willow Bend as Charles William Jones, 29, of B.E. Master 222 in Paris.

My question is: Why didn't the homeowner call 911 and let the police handle it? Did Willie break into the house? Was the girl (woman - mid 20's) afraid or was she still seeing him? Did he have a gun creating a self- defense type situation? It's just scary that this happened.
