I heard a kid choked another kid until he passed out and that the kid who did it is being kicked out of PJH? I have kids there so I am curious.

Call the school and ask. As a concerned parent, you are certainly entitled to do so. As a matter of fact, that's the first thing I would have done. As a concerned parent, I certainly wouldn't base my kids' safety upon the scuttlebutt from topix. I'd want the facts, not the speculation.

Thanks for all your help! It is so greatly appreciated and unexpected to run into another concerned parent on Topix. I think maybe we should start our own thread under concerned parents that way every other concerned parent on Topix will need to go. Hopefully this will also allow us to keep out the riff raff and scuttlebutts!

I heard this too. I'm not sure what happened to him as far as punishment, but I hope he was expelled. Although, I did hear that we will be going to NL from now on. Very scary, in my opinion.

Since he is a juvenile, I don't think the school will tell you.

Uhhhh - they can tell you what happened without naming who did it. The newspaper does it all the time in juvenile cases. Many school districts send out memos to the parents when there are serious incidents at school. They don't rely on gossip forums. On the other hand, if the parents are relying on what the kids are telling them, I'd take the whole thing with a huge grain of salt. Kids are notorious for blowing things all out of proportion (I think they inherit that trait from their Topix-posting parents). If the school personnel feel your child is in danger, they'll probably tell you. If you think your child is in danger, then you should have a sit-down with the principal. You shouldn't be throwing out wild, unfounded rumors on Topix.

Then jim should protest that the victim purposely had their neck in between the black kids hands and Gary Young knew all about it and don't forget that Finley was in on it also!(LOL)

You "heard about it" and it wasn't blown out of proportion? How do you know if you weren't there and only "heard about it"?

I'd really rather not put in on here, if you don't mind Ramona Sue. It did happen and that's all I will say.

I know the kids involved, the victim was white, the choker was black. Not "blown out of proportion" if your child was choked until he passed out and fell in the floor, would you be upset?

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Aries

Your emotions have the upper hand, making you rather fiery and fervent. That's great if you're hoping for a passionate encounter with you-know-who, because you'll be really hot stuff. However, in non-sexual situations you could become somewhat tempestuous and irritable, especially if you suspect that things aren't going the way you want.
