let me clear all of this stuff up right this very moment. my son always came to the worlds biggest fish fry every april and that's where he met satriani, rasheed wallace and steve vai but the rumor wasn't true about stephen teaching my son. they started a long lasting friendship at the worlds biggest fish fry and played on the porch until mr. riddle blew a gasket.

My name is Annette. I am who Stephen Grimstead assaulted in 2003. Where anyone got the idea that I had a dream is absolutely ridiculous. He knocked me out and apparantly did enough other damage that I had bruises all over my body and I have had knee problems every since. He growled at me and knocked me out and I woke up with my pants off. That is the cold hard truth and I did not deserve it. At the same time my mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I could not deal with both a trial and a mother I loved who needed me. We came to a plea bargain deal - he got 1 year of probation with community service. I have never forgiven Stephen because he never asked me for it. He had many, many problems stemming from a horrible childhood. Maybe he did have a soul but being an artist does not make it so. Just so happens that Jack the Ripper was more than likely a great artist. Annette is my real name. I had two sons there and a husband that night. It was all startingly real. I waited to tell my husband because there were weapons there at Bob Bowden's house and I was afraid my husband would kill Stephen. That I did not want. When he did what he did with the last police encounter - sounded exactly like the person I experienced that horrible night. Just wanted to set the record straight.

I realize this thread is about finding guitar teachers and such and do not mean to disrespect the dead - but when I read, "So you know what? FUCK YOU. If what you said is true, then I'm sorry for the hateful things I said to you. I flew off the handle because you wondered whether one of my favorite people of all time had a soul. This is just another example of what bothers me about the human race -- even people that are friends that have common interests can wind up with hatred between them. There was a period in my life when your husband was a good friend of mine. So ... this all just makes me sick.

Also, Annette, I should've realized there are two sides to every story, but I just couldn't believe that Stephen could have done such a thing. I'm still confused about the whole thing ... the varying stories ... but I do want to apologize to you for the hateful things I said. I wish you and your husband well. Hey David, it's 4:38 am, My oldest son Cameron and I just got in from doing the Keith Urban show in Memphis. I just happened to check my laptop. Thank you for your reply to Annette. She has had a tough week. from time to time she run's Stephens name thru the search engines, and she happen to do it this week and found the posts. I was proud of her for standing up and speaking out about something very painfull. She did not know who you were, and when she showed me, I was dissappointed. But I knew you , and I knew you had limited information. I don't know if you know that after 20 years of close friendship with Bob Bowden, that horrible event devided us to this day. It devestated us. We are continuing to heal. Thank you for compassionate reply to my soulmate, Annette. Drop me a line Bro, wizardstuff@yahoo.com. It's been too long, and life is too short.

I knew Stephen and he came out and watched our band a couple of times.I sent lots of students to him and i believed him a more than capable teacher and musician, the two do not always coincide.He told me of his several problems both mental and physical but he never let them stop him from creating.I hope he finds the next world more suitable and i am sure he is creating something inspiring wherever he is.
