Carmacks fish barn will never succeed because the owners of it will not let anyone make something of the business they are truly crazy Sandra and Angie are truly horrible people and have pulled the wool over many peoples eyes. They will not reason with anyone trying to run the business because they are doing a better job of it than they ever could. People may not believe this about these two people but if you ever have to deal with them as far as an employee or a person renting or leasing the barn you will find out very quickly the true side of these two faced people. I hope whoever has to deal with them on the level of business or employee have a better experience than others have before.

These women have ruined Carmacks!! It may have been started by Sandy and her father, but Roe McCrary ran that place. He knew what he was doing Sandy was only spending money, she never grasped how to run the place and since Roe has passed away they have been struggling to keep it alive. But maybe if the practiced what the preach about being such Christian women then they could keep the good hard working employees they had....

We ate there a few weeks ago and the service was horrible. Waited 45 minutes for food and then didn't have what we ordered. The waitress came back and said they were out of baked potatoes. They use to be a good place to eat, but not that night. The whole experience was not good. I wish they would get their act together and do good. I really enjoyed going there.

I have known Angie, Sandra and Roe McCrary for a very long time. I have ate there quite a few times. They are true christian people and anybody that doubts that among anybody is in the wrong. Roe McCrary passed away a couple of years ago and at the same time, Angie smith was diagnosed with Breat cancer. Not to mention that Ms. Sandra is an elderly lady. SO yes, they have struggled with the business. But it is not because She is only "spending the money", but because they have had to go through hardships as a family. I went out there a few months ago and it was awful. i had heard that they were under new management..and it showed. It takes somebody that cares and wants the business to thrive and survive, not people that just look at the money. The past four or five months does not relect what the business truly is. Ms. Sandra and Ms. Angie are back in the business and it going great. They have done it for 28 years, they should know how to run it...and they do. Some people may say that they are two faced..but thats not the case. They did all they could to help without stepping their grounds. ALong with this, they have been very respectful of those who have come and gone. Not ONCE have Ms. Sandra or Ms. Angie talked down or badly about them. Her reply is "it just didnt work out.". The place is known for a great family enviroment, great food, and great service. Yes, through all of their harships and complications, they are still thriving to run the business. Great people. Great business. Thats all there is to it.

I have known Sandra, Angie and the late Roe for many years of my life. I want to set the record straight. These ladies are two of the nicest women I have ever known, and have always offered a helping hand for any problems they could help with. This restaurant was in a total mess when Sandra and Angie took back over. They are improving that restaurant back to the former glory that it once held.
I want to encourage anyone out there who reads this to take the chance on them. There is good food, and a great family atmosphere that you will not be able to find at any restaurant in this area.
Please don't let what some have said up there discourage you from coming back or driving out to Cottage Grove area to try their great food. I have eaten there again and even once worked there so I know how the food is suppose to taste and how you should be treated as a customer. With respect and courtesy.

Well "amen" from Gary, IN, it sounds like you are familiar with "the truth" (or should I say reputation trasher and gossip as it seems) from Paris, TN. I think we all know who "the truh" is anyway. I and all of my family have personally been customers of Carmacks Fish Barn for decades. The McCrary's truly are a wonderful bunch of Christian people and I have seen Roe and Sandra's kindness toward others. I happen to know that she was very generous to this recent manager, that run it for a few months this past summer. I and my family haven't been since mid summer because it seemed so disorganized and different. We are so glad that Sandra and Angie are back. The Christian family atmosphere has returned and it is better than ever.

You went when Jonie was managing the restaurant. She left at the beginning of Oct. and as I understand it, Sandra the owner has taken it back over. The service and food are much better, like it used to be. You should try it again.

I have only eaten there a few times. I live just south of Union City and when I visit my son and his family we go to Carmacks. I went several years back for the first time and have been a couple of times since. I know it is great food and I liked the comfortable, friendly environment. I did not go during this new management; however, if it is back like it was then I know it must be good.

I went tonight and the service was wonderful and the employees were friendly and knew what they were doing. I'll recommend it to everyone.

I ate at Carmack's Fish Barn just last week, and i loved it! The food was great, the service was even better. I went for my first time during the summer, and i must say i wasnt very impressed. But, i was told by a friend of mine to try it again now that Sandra and Angie back, and i'm soo glad that i did. I will definitely be returning and i recommed this family restaurant to my friends and family. My church was wanting to book a Christmas party and i do believe that i will put my vote in for carmacks!

Don't act like you knew Roe. If you did, you'd know that he'd be rolling over in his grave the way you're trash talking his family and Carmacks.

They have the worst bathrooms in Henry County! I don't want to have to go in there while I'm trying to enjoy a meal.

i can only say if you waited 45 minutes for your meal, you were there when joanie was trying to manage carmacks, sandy would never have allowed that to happen, give them a break and go back, they have been through some difficult times, they deserve respect, not criticism

CARMACKS IS SUCCEEDING. Whether some people want it to or not. It is obvious that the people that wrote the first two commetns either have way to much time on their hands to be sitting around and trashing a family that has had to go through many things or they're just being vindictive because they're one of the people that tried managing it and they couldnt keep up with the high rate of success that Roe and sandra set.

Sandy and Angie have donated so much to benefits and fundraisers for their community and charities in Henry County. So sad for anyone to try to trash their business and their reputation. They have donated their time, money, and services to so many. They struggled during Roe's illness and after he passed to keep the business going. Surely, people have already forgotten how much they have given back to so many benefits. So sad that anyone would wish them harm.

My husband and I ate there this weekend and it was good as usual! We did have an issue with an item and as soon as we called the waitress over and she fixed it immediatley, with a smile on her face! They even brought us out a couple of extra pieces of fish to make up for what was wrong. The baked potatos were fresh and steaming hot and all the trimmings were there as usual! The only thing I think they need to do is advertise a little more in Como, they need a sign on highway 54 so ppl can see it's there and where to turn.

Having eaten at Carmacks on many occasions, I discovered very quickly that as soon as Sandra stopped running it, and someone else took over, it went down hill quickly.
The last time I ate there, the service was horrible and the food was much less than what it was under Sandra.

I have eaten there several times and I have to say the place has gone down in their menu and employees. I went there again recently and will not be going back. My server was rude and had a complete lack of curtsy to anyone other than herself it seemed. She was horrible, perhaps the worst I've ever had anywhere, if that is what the rest of the employees are anything like the one we had I would not recommending going. People have asked me what I think of the old management returning but I ask them what has happened so that two different people can not manage it for them. Must be something about the people they are dealing with. Because I had eaten there with both other managers and thought that they were the better than that of the original management.

You must have Carmacks mixed up with another restaurant. I have never had bad service at carmacks. My server and everyone else at Carmacks has been friendly and helpful except once during late summer, but come to find out that waitress is no longer there and left when the owner took the place back over. Carmacks is family oriented and friendly and I would recommend it to everyone I know.

Haven't eaten there in years. Moved away from Henry County in 1985. Went to high school with Angie and was saddened to hear from an earlier post that she had breast cancer. She was always a sweet girl, and I wish them well. Might have to try Carmack's when I come home for Christmas.
