I'am so sick of my family not able to recieve medical care because we can't afford it,and we have health insurance for crying out loud! My husband and I both work full time and still struggle. Half the time we can't even afford to go to the grocery. But the people who sit on thier butts and are able to work get medical cards, foodstamps ect....... Our tax dollars pay for them to recieve medical care and put food on thier tables. Oh yeah the reason we have such a shortage on the h1n1vaccine is because our wonderful country is sending it over to Europe for crying out loud!! they would rather take care of other countries than our own!

And some people think our healthcare system is the best in the world. We seriously need reform and those opposing reform now are killing our chances at real healthcare reform because they either are the ones spreading the lies or the ones believing the lies made by those opposing healthcare reform. It is truly sad that a family that has health insurance still can't afford health care. Yeah, our system is great, let's just leave it alone and let the rich keep getting richer from our misfortunes.

Wait until after you have worked hard all of your life like I have . I draw SS I get $1058. per month after they take out medicare. I have had lots of hospital stays and doctor bills of late. I cannot afford a supplement insurance. They tell me that I draw a $100. too much per month to be able to receive any kind of help ! Talk about frustrating ! I look around me at people that never worked in their lives, they get their SSI , plus medicaid , food stamps, their rent paid ! There is nothing fair about life ! They are normally drawing about $300 less than I get. But look at all the benefits ! They sure ammount to more than any $300 !

How about we have welfare reform? Wouldn't that be something? I agree the healthcare system needs help, just not the radical changes this administration is trying to cram down our throats! Maybe that's why unemployment is at 10.2%, but I forgot, with the stimulous, it won't go above 8%!

I can't argue with the belief that the current administration is not practicing sound economics. The handling of the economy with inflation and unemployment will never cease until we adopt the cause of those that call for the end of the Federal Reserve, like Ron Paul. I'm not expert enough to foresee the ramifications to the market from expanded healthcare but it seems common sense to believe that we need to reform the healthcare system so the balance tips in our (consumers/patients) favor and not the establishment.

I'm 36 and face the same fears, but that doesn't seem to be a concern to most yet. Hell, look at the number of people who are tickled to work for cash and nothing going into the pot. What are they going to do when that time comes? I'm sure we will pay for them too. I've got two small IRA's and wonder what will be enough? I feed them what I can but I don't expect anything from the gov't. We know SS is going broke from the govt stealing from it but no one seems to care now that the savior is in office. I am sure he will appologize to someone and all will be well. Ok, what can I say, I am a Cynic. LOL

I hope we remember these comments when the next election comes around. We need to elect those who belive in term limits for the people in the legislative branch. No more career politicians voting for the special intrest groups that give out the best prizes for the votes. Send normal working people to Washington serve the term and come back home and send new people back to do the same thing. We also need to out law special interest groups that lobby in Washington.

The definition of stupidity is doing (or electing) the same thing and expecting a diffent outcome.

Make a change and see what happens?
This holds true not only in Washington but right here in our state and hometown. Politicians dont have the power to make all the changes we do as well.

I think welfare should be for the elderly and people who get up everyday and try. I get so sick when I see young adults living on Sec. 8, foodstamps, Medical Cards, and anything else they can get when they are perfectly able to get out and work but keep having children (for the grandparents to raise) so they can get more of our tax dollars. I think everyone of these people should be cut off and made to work.

Holy cow!! A thread I can agree with for a change. As long as washington is profitable we'll never get rid of the PAC's and the money for bills! Makes you wonder how to change the BS when the money keeps it rolling?

As long as insurance companies are allowed to make massive donations to politicians (spelling?) there will never be true insurance reform in this country. The insurance companies want their profits, and the congress will not cut off their noses by voting for anything that will endanger their campaign money. It's a big viscious circle, and we're the ones paying the price.

Welfare needs to be drastically reduced those that wont dont need our help,,,, they still wont do anything but take our handouts, election reform is badly needed we vote where the TV sends us and that send comes strictly from who has the bucks. Does anyone know a "poor" doctor? Fact is they make way way toooooo much and we all know it. On top of therte obsecene wealth who contributes more to the ills of our present life than doctors? Who prescribes all those pills that have left us a society afraid of life? Eliminat the doctors control and we eliminate most theft that we have today. Imagine a worlk where grandamaw does not have to worry abouth grankids killing her for her pills,,,,,, I canit used to be America before the MDA.

But on the other hand, the doctors making money is capitalism at it's finest. Take away their money and where is the incentive to become a doctor? Money is the ncentive that finds new drugs and cures. No one is going to do it because it feels good, they do it for the money. Money drives this country and the strive for it is part of what makes our economy strong. Less incentives are going to lead to less rewards which leads less people striving. Which could lead to more on welfare. I will give the shirt off my back to help someone who is trying, but if they expect it, just try to take it!

I totally agree with you! I took my daughter to the docter the other day she had been running a high fever. told me it was a virus and sent us on our way. No compassion what so ever! We were there 10 minutes tops.$150 for him to do absolutly nothing.

I happen to agree with Ron Paul who claims that our whole system is based on welfare. When we put our faith in a currency that is seriously inflated because the Fed can just print it out of thin air. Doctors getting high pay is not capitalism at its finest, it is just another service that is performed at an inflated price. I supported Obama healthcare until I read Ron Paul's book and I now know that expanded healthcare is just another way for the Fed to push the newly printed, inflated money onto the open market. The more they devalue the dollar by printing more of them, the more prices for goods and services will continue to rise. Not to say that the healthcare system isn't broken, but I now see that universal coverage funded by the government is not the answer. Paying doctors less is certainly not the answer. If I went to college for almost a decade I would want good pay as well. The problem is that we have an inflated currency that drives up the cost of everything over time, and we the consumers/taxpayers are left holding the bag.

I disagree the doctors capitilism at its finest has given us pain clinics (peddling addictive narcotics)and health care few can afford,,,, there would still be doctors only the doctors would be doctors because they like the work and made 10 times more than most. obscene millions being made helping the sick is well just obscene.

As for welfare in my opinion no more handouts period,,, there is plenty that can be done. Pick up trash, clean our steams most of roosevelts programs to help the poor involved them helpinf us all like the Civilian Conservation Corp. No reason a person cant help renovate old houses for his check. Give a man a dollar and he wants to sit and wait for the next one,,, Id rathert give a man a job maybe teach him something.

Start calling, writing letters giving out names of some of these people, and let them investigate, if every town would do this for one month we all would see a difference, take pictures send them, get together one voice can get attention but many makes a change
