Well what a lot of BS to digest..these posts.
Perhaps we all should be banning together and
try to solve the murders and bring some closure to the Rhoads and
Karen's families....We really can not judge or
condemn until we fully know what happened?
Will we ever? I am proud to have been brought
up in Paris, Il. but the book, the rumors
and disgusting corruption that is fact and
well documented in the state of Illinois
sickens me to no end....I have been to Joes
Pizza many times and it was good and they may
be really good people, but the fact remains that
money laundering occured in my beloved hometown.
What else has occurred? Obviously, some pretty
f-d up shit!!!
I think it is time to try and solve the murders
of Dyke and Karen, if possible. I'm not too
optimistic after reading the book and all the
pathetic bluders and concealment or destruction
of valuable evidence.....What a mess

All Mike Callahan tried to do is pad his own pocket, at the expense of everyone he ever came in contact with. The book is half truths designed to sway the reader to the Callahan way of thinking which is incomplete. He did not stay in the saddle and fight. He retired and wrote a bullshit book which solved nothing..nada. The handwriting says Callahan was premature and never really developed squat. His foundation was all premised by the Steidl lawyer who filed the post conviction document in 1988. This guy said all there was at the time. Callahan did not come up with anything..again, NADA.

It is very sad that dirty money, power, drugs, and low life corrupt people murdered the young couple. Those a*s holes will get their day! Should tie em to a tree in the courthouse lawn and !!!!!!!!!the old skool way

Won't ever be a prosecutor touch it. It carries way too much baggage. Every body that tried to re-investigate the case is being sued. Its like an old bomb that no one wants to tinker with.

It's a total disgrace towards law enforcement and the judicial system. There is no doubt guilty people are runnin around the Paris area that were involved in murder, and covering them up. And they are free as a bird. That is B.S. for the familys of the slain people, and the community! Law enforcement, politicians, and the judicial system need to grow balls and do the right thing!

After reading through all the posts, I am convinced "Gumshoe" isn't from Chicago, and isn't as detached from the recent reinvestigation as he tries to come across. I'm guessing he'll deny it, but I believe Gumshoe recently became a defendant to the wrongful conviction civil suit, and I'd suggest readers of this blog take anything Gumshoe says with a grain of salt. Also, I hope the readers would ask the question of Gumshoe, "why will the truth come out in a year?" If you've got the truth, why not come forward now? It is my belief that you have more time on your hands, and think you can write a book too, fill it with your own skewed perceptions, and try to repair your reputation. Gumshoe...there's no way in hell you can even write a book, much less fill it with anything that will change peoples' minds about you. So keep promising... "the truth will come out in a year"...then two...then three...then quietly disappear...

I completely agree with this and would apply it to "Dinosaur" as well. It's obvious there is a reason for you people to defend Vitale , Morgan, and whoever else accused so viciously. Most people who disagree with Callahan would just leave one comment and leave it at that. Instead you go the whole nine yards and call him a " delusional nutcase who's just in it for the money". I know Mike Callahan, and I know for a fact that he has 1,000s of documents proving everything in his book and more. He's not in it for the money, he's in it to stand up to the corruption and let the public know once and for all. You have to remember he was involved in the ISP for 20 years, HIS HIGHER IN COMMAND were covering up the facts. he would know more than any one else.

Well,I'm pretty sure everyone can see the sky. and with that said everyone knows for a FACT that it's blue, so to collect 1,000 documents from various sources saying it was green would be pretty difficult to say the least ladies man. Sorry to burst your bubble, but get real. Dont tell me your ignorant enough to actually believe a Man who wrote all this information in a book would use it from rumors. What information do you have to prove that his sources are from rumors and lies? Nothing. It's impossible to gather information on speculation and legitimately use it. He has them from thousands of different sources, his higher command, his fellow officers, e-mails, police reports, you name it. And I have seen them first hand. When the facts are sitting right in front of you and you fight to stop the corruption in a double homicide murder, going as far to sue your higher command for trying to cover the corruption, your not going to use documents that are based off rumors and lies. He used first hand accounts, the man is not a dumb ass. If you read the book it's not just Callahan who is fighting the corruption in the ISP, a lot of other officers witnessed it first hand and who fought with him along the way. You honestly believe that more than half of the officers in the ISP based their information on this case from things citizens are saying? When you have a large handful of people noticing that something isn't right, then somethings wrong. And When you investigate the case for a long period of time thoroughly you realize that some of those "lies and rumors" are truth. Open your eyes.

The people responsible for the corruption and murders will have their family thanksgiving dinner while the familys of the victims still have to deal with no justice year after year. That is terrible, my heart feels for those people. May god bless them!

Q. IF this alleged corruption exists, then why doesn't the FBI do something?

A. They have looked at it and know the corruption claim is stupid.
