Montebello to monitor intersections

Hey "montebello senior": If opponents, of the 3 council members booted out, sent out flyers explaining their position, AND, Montebello residents READ them, analyzed them and usig their best COGNITIVE abilities, came to a CONCLUSION and still BOOTED the 3 out, that's called making an "INFORMED" decision!

The "3 amigos" had plenty of time (while in office) and a platform (in city council chambers) to make their case and speak to the people directly, so I don't get how there was only 1 sided information.

YOU ARE MISTAKEN AGAIN!

When driving around Montebello I will wear a mask to cover my face so that I don't get tickets. lol

Get rid of them all, the City of Montebello isn't what it use to be. When our family goes out to dinner, we end up haveing to go to Alhambra or any other city because MTB doesn't have anything new to offer for food. Instead of building a resturant row in MTB, they build more flipping mini marts and other crap. How many mini marts do we need, there are vacant stores everywhere in the city.

What ever happened to developing the land next to the mall, weren't there enough kick backs in it for the city council to go forward with it?

I for one vote AGAINST all the council members when election times comes around, not 1 of them does a dam thing and they all have their hands out for perks.

The latest DUMB idea I heard is they want to develope the vacant land between La Merced and the mall to put in houses. Who was the bright light that came up with that one? Even if that idea did work, where does he think all those kids will be going to school at? The schools are over crowded and the education level SUCKS. The MTB city and school district can spend (waste) 4 million dollers to put in a football stadium at Schur but they can't spend enough money to teach a kid basic education. Thank GOD for private school.

Excuse me? What do you call the food court at the mall, Marie Callenders, BJ's and the new Applebee's???

When it comes to the school district and bonds, bonds are approved by taxpayers for "infrastructure only". Just like individuals do home improvements to hopefully up the equity in their homes, that is what the 4 million was for.

Our property taxes and sales taxes and other state revenue is what constitutes a school district's yearly budget and what pays for teacher's salaries.

The city, county, school districts, state and feds just have to learn to "live within their means".

PERIOD!

I'm not Amigo I'm someone that has lived in Montebello a long long time. You sound like a smart mouth that thinks he knows it all. PERIOD! The 3 that did not get voted back in probably did not have the funds to spend on nasty flyers like the others had backing them and you know who that is!!!!!!!!!!

I love Montebello that is why I want to see the best for this fine city. It would be nice to see it be honest like it use to be years ago.

NICE? Montebello is now nearly 90% Latino, and 30-40% of that illegal.

The younger Mexican-Americans are leaving for Whittier, and Asians and Armenians left long ago, what's left is not so "nice".

Are you better than the Latino's? There are Illegal's all over the U.S. God loves all people what difference does it matter what nationality lives where!!!If in fact you live in Rosemead it is no better there. It is no better anywhere in today's times. We have to be kind to one another that is what is wrong in these times people really don't give respect to one another. I love my neighbors even if they are Latino or Armenians. The Armenians move because they have money and can afford high priced homes. there are plenty of Armenians that still live here.

Food court at the mall is a joke. I'm talking about REAL food, not that fast food crap. The food court at the mall is the reason MTB kids are so dam FAT, just food 24/7.

MTB needs real resturants, BJ"s is ok, if you like over priced food and long waits. maria Calenders hasn't changed the menu in years, that's why they never have more then a 5 minute wait to be seated and as for Apple Bee's, good luck finding parking.

The city can spend MILLIONS on a usless football field at schurr but can't pay the teachers a decent wage. Like I said before "Thank GOD for private school". I never voted for any bond to WASTE money for that field. Why couldn't they continue playing at MBT High schhol?

As for my property value going up, it has NOTHING to do with the city council. None of them have done a dam thing since being elected except put there hands out for FREEBYS. Before you get your knickers in a bunch, this is based on FACTS. What improvements have you seen in MTB latly? Im not talking about the money they spent (wasted) on Whittier Blvd or the several new mini-malls popping up in every direction. The LAST good thing in MTB was when they built the mall 25 years ago. Ever since then we have had NOTHING. I take that back, we have a out dated movie theater with limited parking with a Apple Bee's right next door that takes a year and a day to get your food. BTW, when is that AMC going to be a 99 cent theater, it won't be too soon judging by all the empty seats in there now. My hat goes off to the City of Pico Rivera, that city really knows how to kick butt and take names when it comes to getting big business to open shop. They have better shopping, pools, theaters, activities for kids and a way BETTER program for seniors.

I can't wait until retirement so I can get the heck away from here. I'm ashamed of what this city has come to. Monterey Park, you are no better. That city is becoming DIRTY and trashy.

the current city council has been trying to get more "American" restaurant chains to come to Montebello, but because of your high population of Latinos and ILLEGALS, they are afraid to come, because they think they will be wasting their money, that residents will not eat there, only taco and beans. Like it or not, they are partly right.

MTB resident: Don't fool yourself, ANY city NORTH of Beverly Blvd and especially Arroyo Drive, is better than where you are. All our schools in the north do better too. Not hurting your feelings, just the truth.

nforcer2u, my feelings aren't hurt. My kids all go to PRIVATE SCHOOL. There is NO way I would trust my childrens education to Montebello School District.

Anybody making racist comments like you can't hurt anybodies feelings. At best your racist comments are amusing. I think you should step outside your door and take a good look around Rosemead and realize that Latinos are all around you. In fact, you will be hard pressed not to find Latinos through out California. Therefore, love it or leave it Johnny!!! Latinos are here to stay!!

I did not realize simply referring to the term "Latino" (which is a proper noun) nor referring to the US Census bureau regarding Montebello's racial/ethnic makeup was "racist" but OK.

(BTW, there's a big difference between the percentages 30-40% and 90%)

It wasn't "my" culture who rasied a child to be so stupid, insensitive, unpatriotic, and yes, "racist" as to raise a Mexican flag and fly our American flag upside down at Montebello High School 2-3 years ago during the pro illegal immigration march (and which went all over national TV and blog sites, as to almost cause a race riot!!!???)

those cameras are not good for the consumer, the other day i saw a car rear end another car badly, because the other car was too scared to enter the intersection when the light bearly turned yellow, also my wife got a ticket the other day, i am goint to try to gight it.
