They also need to pay attention to atmosphere - that is lighting (not too bright), music, table settings (with GLASSES please, not plastic!), etc. A liquor license or at minimum beer and wine, are a must. TaMolly's has potential if they would tone down the lighting, have a little soft Mexican music and restore the bar. Folks want to be able to have a beer or Margarita with spicy food. A nice Chinese place would be great also - NOT a buffet (ugh), but a place with a nice atmosphere you can sit down and order off the menu and they cook it to order. There is a reason I go to Jonesboro, and most of it has to do with having a nice experience, not in and out, wham-bam, thank you m'am. Dixie Cafe, Couch's, Huddle House and Terry's are all okay for what they are, but not places you go for a nice dinner out. Workers also need to know they will receive a decent tip for their service to customers -- I read in the Daily Press that in this area a lot of folks just tip one dollar per person at the table. If I were a waiter, why would I bust my tail for someone who won't show their appreciation? The town (the customers) have a responsibility, too.
Mini golf, an internet cafe, nice clothing stores are all good ideas, too, but with any of this, some business person has to decide Paragould is worth them investing the time and money to create the place in the right location with the right atmosphere. They have to invest quite a lot in infrastructure, purchase inventory and train personnel. Will we support this? Are the right people looking at Topix, or are we just talking amongst ourselves?

I totally agree on the new internet provider idea, but not just for internet, the whole electric company is a joke. When your bill goes from around $200 early in the year to $450 over the summer and you haven't changed anything, somethings messed up. But of course they won't admit wrong doing, but they are the only electric provider in town far as I know so what are people going to do? If there was a second electric company, a better one it would give them competition to at least act like they care enough to be better.
