I think a nice amusement park with a real water park like Six Flags would be nice here so you don't have to drive 4 or 5 hours to get there and it would bring in a lot of business during the summer. I know I am dreaming but it would be nice to have a place where families could go have fun with their children locally.

They also need to pay attention to atmosphere - that is lighting (not too bright), music, table settings (with GLASSES please, not plastic!), etc. A liquor license or at minimum beer and wine, are a must. TaMolly's has potential if they would tone down the lighting, have a little soft Mexican music and restore the bar. Folks want to be able to have a beer or Margarita with spicy food. A nice Chinese place would be great also - NOT a buffet (ugh), but a place with a nice atmosphere you can sit down and order off the menu and they cook it to order. There is a reason I go to Jonesboro, and most of it has to do with having a nice experience, not in and out, wham-bam, thank you m'am. Dixie Cafe, Couch's, Huddle House and Terry's are all okay for what they are, but not places you go for a nice dinner out. Workers also need to know they will receive a decent tip for their service to customers -- I read in the Daily Press that in this area a lot of folks just tip one dollar per person at the table. If I were a waiter, why would I bust my tail for someone who won't show their appreciation? The town (the customers) have a responsibility, too. Mini golf, an internet cafe, nice clothing stores are all good ideas, too, but with any of this, some business person has to decide Paragould is worth them investing the time and money to create the place in the right location with the right atmosphere. They have to invest quite a lot in infrastructure, purchase inventory and train personnel. Will we support this? Are the right people looking at Topix, or are we just talking amongst ourselves? Why do you think we should even have to leave tips? This is the waiter/waitress job!! For petes sake people wake up!!!! It is the owners responsibility to pay their workers wages not us! We go to a restaurant to buy our meal NOT to pay someones wage that are not up to scale. Our appreciation? For what? Why do restaurant owners have the priviledge of only paying what they can afford or WANT TO PAY OUT OF THEIR POCKET!!!! and then think that we should not only pay a big price for our food but also pay their wages? Yes think about it!!!!!

Change the system if you can. Otherwise, if folks continue to tip poorly we will have mediocre restaurants in this town with mediocre service since few will want to give great service without compensation. Would YOU do it?

A decent internet provider. Sad that the 65 dollar business class internet can't stream or even play games half the time. Sure, the 4 mb per sec seems nice enough whwn advertised, but really annoying when it runs at .5mb per second

My point is how do restaurants get by with paying way less than minimum wage when all others have to pay out the aola.the waitress doesn'tdo much more than bring your food and maybe get you a refill! Wake up people we have not fancy places that the normal people patronize, we only eat at low scale places. And from what i have seen on this forum no one wants any thing fancy just not kiddy food. The owners are ripping people off left and right....go ahead and tip if your that stupid

jonesboro wanted to get big so they did but with it comes more and more scum and more scum. It has started in Paragould and will continue as long as there are greedy people that cannot get enough stuff, reataurants and entertainment. People have got to be entertained to be happy and satisfied. People you need to wake up to all that is going on!I grant you that the greedy business men and women will want more and more so they and that is a big THEY can profit and live in huge mansions. They will not give a big s..t where we have to live or by who we have to live by. We all belong in our own country and believe it or not this is the way God made it to be is Mexicans in theirs, negros in africa, etc. It is in the Bible. Man got these people over here because of greed.

I totally agree on the new internet provider idea, but not just for internet, the whole electric company is a joke. When your bill goes from around $200 early in the year to $450 over the summer and you haven't changed anything, somethings messed up. But of course they won't admit wrong doing, but they are the only electric provider in town far as I know so what are people going to do? If there was a second electric company, a better one it would give them competition to at least act like they care enough to be better.

I always laugh when I read posts (nothing has changed) with my utility bills. Do you not recall the excessive heat? That non-stop sound of your ac unit working was using electricity. Not to mention, if you water your yard, had a swimming pool filled or watered a garden you were using more water in the drought.. And no I don't work for the utility company, it's called common sense.
