ACORN was designed to help get the poor and disadvantaged people out to vote. The people they were registering to vote are from both parties and not just Democrats. ACORN has been used in the past without any problems. It seems the people that filled out the phony registrations were rip-offs looking to make a fast buck. Unfortunately this time around, the orginization hired some of the wrong people to work for them and these people used and abused the orginization solely to make money. Obama is not blame for this. The orginization should have been more selective about who they hire.

Sorry you feel so touchy about the subject. Was simply trying to verify the source of information so I could research and form an educated opinion, unlike others. I prefer my political information to not be spoon fed to me via an unreliable source, such as topix.

Obama donated or paid CSI the political arm of ACORN over $500,000 dollars, Acorn must have really wanted the poor to vote pretty bad because they registered the homeless that had no address's, it must be a coincidence that this year there is so much trouble with ACORN and registration and their former lawyer , and people trainer is running for president .(And I'm not talking about McCain )

I'm aware that Obama contributed to the orginization. But as highly intelligent as Obama is, do you actually think he had anything to do with concocting this lame-brain scheme? He is, after all, a lawyer and is fully aware that these registrations will be checked for validity. I'm sure if Obama wanted to hatch a scheme he'd be a hell of a lot more crafty and cunning than that. This was done by a bunch of yahoos looking to make a quick buck. These louts were not sophisticated enough to realize that their con game would be very easily detected.

NO offence but when your primary workers are college kids that would rather be hitting the bong (Beer or otherwise)than going to class. Liberal kid in this country aren't exactly known for intelligent priorities....Just look at any girls gone wild commercial or earthday/ music festival.

No offense to you, but perhaps you don't have a realistic viewpoint of what or who a liberal college student is. I was a liberal college student (graduated, but still liberal), and no, I've never been on Girls Gone Wild. I love my family, respect others and their opinions, and am very intelligent.

I work hard at my job - I save money, own my own home, pay my car note and on a whole, am very responsible compared to those twice my age. Your viewpoint appears to be very narrow and perhaps you are letting the 5% of bad liberals interfere with the good you can clearly see in the other 95%.

As for myself, I'm able to see past the hype of the "bad" right wing Republicans. I'm able to analyze the information reported on the news and understand that not all Republican supporters are so silly as to think Obama is an Arab or that all Republicans believe it is OK to shout slogans advocating violence against ANY candidate.

I can only hope that you are able to open your eyes and stop the generalizations. Not all blonds are dumb, not all young people are irresponsible, not all elderly people are stupid and slow. God bless you.
